  • I would wager the capitalists with billions of dollars have a bit easier time passing legislation than any of us commoners do.

    They are the force.

I'm just saying if everyone that steals from Walmart then goes online to tell everyone that they stole, and everyone pats them on the back, don't be so surprised when Walmart invests to have officers guarding the exit, and pushes some mandatory minimum sentences to make shoplifting harder and riskier.

  • I never said to stop talking about them. I said people who do pirate should stop openly telling people that they do so. To say there is nothing corporations and the government can do is downplaying their power. The senate already thinks the internet is a series of tubes. Let's not give them a reason to plug those tubes.

  • Businesses aren't implored to be less shitty or charge you less. Businesses are implored to upheave whatever avenue you use to steal possible profit. When Businesses hear everyone is pirating again they aren't going to lower their prices or increase their service value. They are going to give pirates the shift.

Read between the lines. If you want to continue pirating don't talk about it online. If you want them to feel it in their wallet, don't talk about it.

  • I encourage everyone who cares about piracy to not talk about it in an outright and encouraging manner. Here's some examples based on what people are publicly posting:

-"This is why we commit crimes"

-"I think it's crazy that everyone doesn't commit crimes."

-"Committing crimes is justified when I can't do it legally."

Do you think corporations would be upset with people encouraging what legally equates to theft?

Do you think corporations are unaware of if their legal property is popularly being stolen?

Do you think corporations avoid scraping lemmy for data or trends?

Do you think corporations have unreasonable power to lobby government and push legislation?

Maybe you should all quit narcing yourselves and making a public spectacle before another wave of legal action takes place to dissuade another generation, like what happened back in the Napster days.

  • Haha! Of course sport! Anything for my big guy. Say, while we're at it, how about we make a day of it? We can get some burgers and floats, skip some rocks at the lake, and maybe even get you that new Lightning Mcqueen booster seat you've been wanting!? This is going to be so much fun bud! We just have to make a quick stop at the town office to renew your SSI information for your...condition...

  • We all know that the vision pro is a porn machine masquerading as a innovative product. That goes for all VR. The first youtuber to give headset reviews centered around their ability to immerse people into porn is going to be the first channel I didn't accidentally subscribe to.

  • Training modules pretend SAP makes sense, and treat you as if you are a robot. I blazed through them too quickly and they didnt like that. They asked me why, and i told them I had already been using the software access for 6 months because of a mistake they made, and the training was pointless. If i agreed in writing that i was competent and trained, then there is no difference.

Honestly I was positioning myself to be the irreplaceable SAP expert at my company because the software is so garbage that not many people knew or wanted to learn how to use it, and I wanted a foot in the door in the supply chain department.

Turns out when you tell your corporate bosses that their ideas don't work, don't work an added 20 hrs a week to compensate for their bad ideas and poor communication, and complain of harassment and treatment bias, they will just fire you. Without severance.

Those trainings were included as reasons for my firing. The ultimate reason for my firing? "Timeliness" because I used 2.5 days of my sick time over the course of 6 months.

They didn't show up for my unemployment hearing. The hearing officer was so confused by my situation he told me to stop answering as if it was a hearing, and just tell him why I think they fired me.

8 months later, I'm doing just fine. Raising my kids, running a business with my wife, and not worrying about being harassed by psychopathic ladder climbers while using the world's worst software.

Sorry for the book I just wrote. I'm known to rant and ramble like a senior citizen sometimes.

  • It's of my own opinion that they are absolutely avoiding the WARN act, while also trying to dump a ton of workers into the market to raise unemployment rates, lower the wage demand power of prospective employees, thereby decreasing job mobility.

Its quite telling when every CEO sounds off like a mocking bird about trivial shit like returning to office after making record profit for 3 years.

I badly want to write a rant but I've already met my quota for today.

Sorry I ranted a bit anyway.

  • SAP, the most forcedly convoluted and horrid amalgamation of acquired software, held together by a support team that barely know how it works, is forcing their workers to go back to the office, where they will communicate with everyone remotely.

    Color me shocked.

I used to be able to email their support staff and say "I need access to XYZ" and they would respond "Who's access would you like to copy?" And I could have told them any name I would like and they would just give it to me.

At one time my boss gave me approval to do all the ordering for our department and gave me access to financial transactions. 6 months later, and a half million dollars spent, they realized I was never given the training that the access required. Guess who had 20 one hour trainings to complete in 2 weeks? Management blamed me.

  • Your point is stupid because no matter how you make a sausage cheddar biscuit loaf, it's going to be unhealthy.

Less processed? Yes. More tasty? Maybe. More healthy? No. Easier? No. Faster? No. Cheaper? Negligible.

  • Used to see hydrox as a kid but haven't for a while now. I'll choose UTZ over any Frito Lay product. I'll choose Humpty Dumpty over any UTZ product though. People are missing out on the ultimate overly seasoned potato chip.
