  • Fighting dirty. I like it.

It's an intriguing idea to ignore American IPs, but then why would American businesses sell their products in Canada at all if IPs aren't being respected? It also sounds like Canadian consumers would be hindered in the long term because jailbreaking isn't performed by the majority of consumers (how many people currently use a VPN to bypass Netflix's region locks)

  • Apparently, the president doesn't require congressional approval of tariffs when justified by a national emergency. The hysterics over illegal immigration and drugs make perfect sense when you realize they're just a pretense to bypass accountability.

The funny part is that Congress can't remove the tariffs by passing a bill because it would then require Trump's signature to become law. So much for checks and balances.

  • Voting third party is fine. Protest voting is acceptable, though this result still fucking sucks. Strategic voting doesn't have to be the default choice.

Anybody that did NOT vote, thinking it would be any sort of protest, is completely idiotic. Self imposed disenfranchisement only forfeits your own ability to say anything about the results.

  • I absolutely can blame them for global insecurity, the way Russia made grain prices rise by invading Ukraine.

Americans also have the most significant impact on climate change because they're the biggest polluters.

  • That just means they're racist too. All he needed to do was paint immigrants and refugees as boogeyman so even minorities look down on them. Anything goes, as long as leopards don't eat my face!

  • The easy answer is, money. Lots of it. With the deregulation of financial crimes (let's see how badly the IRS gets gutted now), it doesn't matter where the money comes from. But it will be necessary to invest heavily in the next midterm and presidential election to ensure JD Vance doesn't automatically win.

  • Not gonna lie, this battle will be uphill against entrenched industries like big oil, crypto, big tobacco, the military industrial complex, and billionaires like Elon Musk.

But you can't roll over and let these assholes ravage the country. Conscientious objection to dubious orders happened during the Vietnam War, and it can happen again if Trump goes rogue.

  • No, siege is when you are suffering from a famine because a government that hasn't received a vote in 15 years picked a fight with a heavily armed neighbor, and said neighbor collectively punishes all of your people for their mistakes (which is a war crime, btw).

  • Exactly. This makes the entire thing a joke.

The court will decide acts are official when convenient (read: supports their guy).

The Federalist Society needs to be outlawed as a terrorist organization.

  • You can't draw an imaginary line between American policy and your home country. It affects everyone when more natural disasters happen or food prices rise due to global insecurity.

  • A lack of accountability has been a recurring theme here. The orange man will take no accountability for attempting an insurrection, or for the hatred he encourages. Voters will not take accountability for electing a fascist.

  • I hate how this picture is accurate. American inaction on climate change fucks everyone over. There's almost no chance of convincing China and India to reduce emissions if the richest country in the world can't be bothered to lift a finger.

But hey, maybe this will incentivize Elon to double his efforts on colonizing Mars for the super rich!
