I only watch Rossmann’s channel anymore so I will probably just quit if they block mine. I use uBlock Origin + Librewolf + VPN + pihole + a random user agent extension. When I set my VPN to USA it still doesn’t say anything.

Pro tip: You don’t have to deal with anti piracy if you pirate it.

Could you explain how or refer me to a guide? I can't find anything on how to do this and am not good with docker.

This is what I did and I love it. I will add that sff is bad for upgrades. I wanted to add a gpu to mine and now I have to buy a larger case to put it in.

I would recommend trying to rent a vps for just long enough to transcode and using that. It would be way cheaper than buying new hardware.

I agree with this, but Debian is closely related to Ubuntu so most guides will work. I am just throwing this out there because I don’t personally like a lot of the proprietary stuff Canonical has added to Ubuntu.

I would say keep using basic security stuff like dns ad/malware/non-child-friendly content blockers, and (more importantly) educate them so they know how to stay safe. If you aren’t handing them an iPhone with their own instagram account as soon as they turn 2 you are doing better than a lot of parents. As a kid (high school age) I can tell you that they will figure out ways around anything you put on there but as long as they understand internet security they won’t want to bypass it.

What do you mean it has a terrible build quality? I have one and I think it is great. They advertise some water resistance but I have full on dunked it in buckets of water with no issues. I can’t comment on the longevity but it seems to be a pretty robust design.

It unnecessarily taxes the cpu. CPUs don’t die except for cracked dies and improper thermal solutions. Do you think that was really going to do anything to it? Also it isn’t like I can’t do that already, so all their shit does is make it harder to do legitimate work.

I know school/work is. Anytime people talk about wanting privacy at school or work people start ranting about how you don’t have an expectation of privacy at school or work. If we lived in a world where you didn’t have an expectation of privacy on the toilet that wouldn’t make you wrong for wanting it.

I can’t use the network there, I haven’t looked at how they configured it but if I do bring my own device I want to keep it off their network completely because they would realize quickly. I have decent cell service though and can do a mobile hotspot.

That is a good point, but privacy was half my reason for doing this. The other is that the performance impact of all the stuff they have on there is terrible. In another comment I went into more detail about the performance implications of the software they have added / make us use. I believe they also have windows defender live scanning or whatever its called enabled which slows even the lightest apps down quite a bit.

I wanted to do goofy stuff last year like the 4 line script that only uses tons of resources, but I have no intention to be malicious in any way. They now have a whitelist instead of a blacklist for website blocking, meaning many educational sites are blocked by accident. My teacher’s website was blocked for most of last year. We are required to use MS Office even though it takes 3-4 times as long as LibreOffice to load. I don’t want to be hackerman or to play csgo in class, I just want basic functionality on the computer I have to use.
