They import from your phone contacts but if you delete someone from your phone contacts, they stay in the app.

You also can't delete group messages from the app.

No I'm just legitimately confused about why anyone would do that or why anyone would care that they did.

So there was a modification that remove pronouns, and they removed it, because it was "bigoted"...?

Pause downloads, and then what? Let it sit there and download them when you're done and then have to come back later and turn it off.

Yes I'm aware of how the update system works.

Downloading while I play is going to severely limit performance.

Yeah it's pretty much the only form of private social media there is.

I've definitely spent more than a few minutes staring at an update screen after I sat down, not to mention games that won't launch before completing a 30GB+ update.

I find it absolutely hilarious that deleting contacts is listed as a feature. Like why is that so hard for Signal to do?

I use AdNauseum. It has uBlock built in but also clicks ads in the background, costing advertisers money, and poisoning your web profile.

uBlock isn't going to block pop-ups that are from the website you're visiting.

I think there is a "goldilocks" popularity zone. Right around the time with shitty watercolour and the hell in a cell guy, and when people would ask obscure questions and some ridiculously specific professional would chime in. Those were the days.

I think it was really a matter of being able to downvote poor content and comments into non-existence so those people would never return.

It was a slow descent over the years. The past six months have been a landslide.

Reddit is taking the "post and ghost" approach these days. Probably the right thing to do. There's nothing they can say to justify this. Gone are the days when they engage at all, or give a single shit what anyone wants. Take it or leave it.
