  • I used to do a very similar thing on my way to work. I got out of the shower, combed my hair back and drove to work with the heat cranked to max and the air duct pointed directly at my face. When I arrived I just ruffled my hair with my hand and had a perfect and indestructible style for the day. I never managed to get a good result with an actual hairdrier lol

  • I hope Intel can get a solid foothold between AMD and Nvidia. There really needs to be more fairly priced competition in the GPU market.

  • Could be that the bolt is too small and so is the thread in the axle. They can throw as many updated bolts at it but the underlying problem will persist as long as they don't update the axles themselves. But that is much more expensive, so they're not gonna do that.

  • "Yeah, fluoride bitch!"

  • I've had it happen a few times over the years. It probably depends on your drive configuration and it doesn't happen with every update. But the last time was one too many for me and I kicked windows off my main system.

  • DallE was intentionally trained to include a ton of pop culture and celebrities. Copyright laws are not ready to deal with these scenarios and the current approach of most companies is to offload the legal responsibility for generated images to their users.

  • The UN is first and foremost just a forum for world leaders to communicate. The whole point is that everyone participates in it so it's impossible for the institution itself to assume radical positions. It's inherently a flawed system but it's the best you can get right now with "superpowers" like the US, China and Russia.

  • I agree 100%. Before rating a movie I always ask myself if the team behind it managed to reach the goals they set for themselves. If all they wanted to make was a cheesy but entertaining slasher movie and succeeded, it can get the same score from me as some Oscar-nominated drama with a triple-A cast.

  • Makes sense, OpenAI will probably have to apply for a TV-license first.

  • If the URL actually shows the address of the federated instance, yes - you'll see the content. In that case you will not be signed in though.

If you visit the federated instance through your home instance, the content will not be visible and you'll be signed in.

  • Starlink sattelites operate in a low orbit that decays over time. They all fall back to earth eventually.

  • Imagine a government being so weak and thin-skinned that they have to censor two digits next to each other
