  • Well. I hope this community is met with good intentions. I wanted to make a self-improvement community, but the one that exists is void, and their intentions were only for it to be people posting with their experiences and asking for advice. I wanted to make a decide to be better community as I used to use on reddit, there was one but also dead as a community, and more for experiences and advice. This community was originally an idea for resources only, but seeing the other communities unused, I decided to expand to advice. Mental health community exists but they don't have anyone posting resources, maybe there is a pinned post but I want to open this community to both resources AND support. And sharing how you overcame your struggle. And then I expanded it to all aspects of self improvement. Anyone can post diet/nutrition, physical health, financial tips articles, career etc resources and advice or ask for it. However any written advice that is not a link to another source, should be met with caution and critical thinking, in hopes of good faith.

  • Best with a side of VPN.

  • I will be sure to remove any trolls or negative comments. There is a rule about positivity only when replying and content/trigger warnings required when necessary. If anyone would like to be a mod let me know.

  • did you forget that this is a shitposting community not a wholesome content community. I posted this because I wanted to make fun of it AND Reddit. Pointing out the obvious that I have seen in multiple places--not just news on social media, but my local news on TV, and many other places using a Reddit post--that is impossible to verify whether it was made up or not-as a source for 'content'. But even if it was false and just propaganda, I don't think the right are capable of interpreting this as you described. (I purposely don't look for these connections because I make it a point to ignore politics as a whole, and even after pointing it out, I still don't care).

  • There is not much stopping them. All the more reason to boycott. There are small trustworthy, non-politically-leaning news sources still worth using.

  • I only keep my account for family and close friends. Occasionally I will see pages I follow. Every comment, just about, on that post is people either continuing the conversation for the Reddit post or a joke about the type of content. I figure, they get a lot of engagement when they first started doing this, and just followed the pattern to keep people seeing them in their feed. Same gimmick as the rage bait and the pseudo-wholesome content.

  • All major news stations are. They each push their own agenda.

  • It is a good distraction. But heck, I wish I could just copy and paste quotes from social media as a 'journalist' for a large company like that. It's all the article was with only a few sentences from the writer. They pretty frequently post 'everyday-type' stuff like this.

  • No, it was just an article, primarily written by the aforementioned Reddit poster and the commenter. There was little input by the 'journalist'. Now, I can't say the same about the OP of the Reddit post. Maybe that had a hidden meaning but I doubt it. But it doesn't surprise me coming from Fox, it is just funny they have nothing better to write about.(they do this often) On social media every day there is a story with similar merit as this one, they could just do this every day. My point. And still be watched/read. But it is for this reason, I keep following their page: to find humor in the comments.

  • Yeah, you are right. But OP saying that it incites a forced reaction is inaccurate. I've never been pressured to laugh from a laugh track just like I've never been pressured by a horror movie 'telling' me to be scared by the rising music/sounds. Just that sometimes they give away the time of surprise. When horror movies have no bg noise for a bit, that's when it is hard to know exactly when something is gonna happen, that's more effective than a long inflecting violin note for example or something like the classic Michael Myers theme that tells you some action is happening/going to happen. But I would never call it a forced reaction. I like soundtracks, I see all movies as works of art rather than 'make me think this is real' lol. Many people these days have no suspension of disbelief.

  • No, what about in horror films when the tension rises, the soundtrack and effects sometimes give the 'surprise' away in suspenseful screens. Less about how it feels and more about predictability. The best ones have very little backing and only subtle sound effects until something is actually happening.

  • Only in a motorized wheelchair, at least that is what people have been charged with. Could not find an example of manual wheelchair DUI, yet article says you can in any wheeled vehicle, such as a wheelchair or bike. One of several sources for confirmation, USA. https://www.findlaw.com/legalblogs/criminal-defense/yes-you-can-get-a-dui-in-a-wheelchair/

Note: and I would imagine these people had to be visibly, obviously and arguably endangering others, I wouldn't expect to see a cop stop someone in a motorized wheelchair randomly just to test them and charge them.

  • I guess they don't count their own ads

  • "What did I say about using your powers? Trainee!"

  • The one where they are in the wishing well:

Squidward: can you not stand so close you're making me claustrophobic

    Patrick: why does claustrophobic mean?

SpongeBob: it means he's afraid of Santa clause

    Squidward: no it doesn't

    Patrick: ho ho ho
