  • "Likely" is now doing its share of work. It's pure conjecture from you and stupifying to see someone defend this level of ignorance as virtuous.

Mere sentences ago I was "likely" siding with fascism. Are we supposed to think this is serious political analysis??

  • "Likely motivations" is doing a lot of lifting there.

I prefer "the words you shoved into their mouths."

  • Oooh conspiracy. Yes, become the thing you hate; report back on how that works out on you.

  • You mean the individuals waiting for the report referenced? I don't think they're going to need convincing nearly as much as you need to pay attention.

  • From my limited understanding it's based on Debian instead of Ubuntu (which is based on Debian). The purpose is to have a fallback in the event Canonical snaps Ubuntu out of existence.

  • More of this nonsense. Spent a fair bit of time on Reddit explaining to folks that few young people turned out for Bernie in the primary. That space was/is replete with apologists digging every conspiracy out of the book instead of acknowledging that Biden simply drew the most votes. And then of course there's a bit of obviousness that never gets addressed: Trump handing Bernie his ass.

Here we are again. Where are the primary voters? Seems a handful of people care to make noise over the results but only a fraction of that number even care to turn out for them. What does turn out is that most people don't end up giving a fuck about voting anything but the presidential election.

I'm sure the collective delusion feels good to immerse oneself in though.

  • Truthfully, I don't know what the secret sauce is. In my experience: system d boot is very simple and allows us to hook directly into the bootloader without any fuss. GRUB seems to be an operating system of its own and windows knows how to hook into it if you will.

  • systemd-boot for anyone that is tired of GRUB/Windows antics.

  • I don't know the difference and what does contempt mean?

    Brilliance personified.

  • From what I've read, his dollarization scheme is pretty out there and is complicated in that the treasury is already light on dollars and no one wants to lend the country money to buy more. In addition, citizens would dump their pesos en masse; it would be an economic suicide of sorts.

Milei has little pull in the chambers of power, but that said, he has scored allies during the campaign. Argentina also has a history of civil unrest against neophyte governments and so there's that bugbear also.

  • 'ZZ' you heathen

  • The ice may be clear and thin, but it sure is wide.

  • Two years ago Valve advised it would be generally available shortly after launch. I find it less silly to expect a company to shoot straight with the consumer than it is to apologize on their behalf (parasocial creatures though we may be.)

  • Your guess has the right feel for me too. A lot of people were hungry for OLED and this is the trade off.
I'm just ready for Linux to grow. Maybe it is naive to think that one distro will carry us much further but with the proper solution I can easily imagine a lot of people dual booting their PCs soon.
