  • I want the people reading this to look more critically at the opinion you’re trying to insert

What opinion am I trying to insert?

you could openly name the assumption you’re trying to push

I literally have no idea what assumption you're talking about, and I'm starting to suspect you don't either.

  • Because their strategy for responding to any criticism of Harris, Biden, or the Democrats is to accuse the critic of being a Russian asset.

I imagine right now they're debating about whether they can credibly accuse of Rashida Tlaib of being a Russian asset without it backfiring on them.

  • If you think I have snuck in an unwarranted assumption, you should say what you think that is. Surely it would be to the benefit of the people you are speaking to.

(Or are you just broadly casting aspersions that you can't substantiate?)

  • Occam's razor doesn't really apply here...

Why? Because you like his music?

Haven’t we all been through this with Morrissey?

Even today, any thread about Morrissey will have a few comments about how maybe he isn’t really that racist, despite the now decades of evidence.

    Ockham’s razor.

  • Yorke was playing a show in Melbourne, Australia, as part of a solo tour when, according to multiple videos recorded by concertgoers, a man yelled: "Do you condemn the Israeli genocide of Gaza? Already 200,000 dead, half of them children."

Yorke could have just said “yes”, but instead he decided to get shirty with the man and then walk off stage.

People in this thread are saying that playing shows in Israel doesn’t mean that he supports the actions of the Israeli government. But what does it mean when he refuses to condemn the genocide?

    Ockham’s razor: He supports Israel.

  • with kids gloves

    *kid gloves

They're called kid gloves because they're made from baby goat.

The leather from baby goats is soft and supple and gives you more dexterity than normal leather gloves. If you were handling something that needed great care, you might want to wear kid gloves to have greater manual control.

Why would you handle someone with kids' gloves? Are your hands very tiny?

You're basically saying they are less human than you and therefor should be excused from behaving normally in the society they are a part of

There's nothing abnormal about speaking a foreign language or praying. For all you know, he could have been praying for a safe journey.

(Or praying for the endurance to put up with a shitty passenger.)

  • In Arabic letters in the same word connect with each other

Yes, that is also in the article. You should read the link before commenting.

The letters not connecting is an issue with the graphic design, not the translation.

  • Either her campaign got screwed over by some Arabic speaking Republican or someone who wanted to discredit her because of the whole Gaza issue.

I think it’s more likely that the text was translated correctly by a professional, but then the graphic design was done by a volunteer who doesn’t have any experience with Arabic text, and nobody on AOC’s team noticed because none of them know anything about Arabic, none of them know any Arabic speakers, and they don’t respect the Arab community enough to consult with them.

Edit: In fact, not just Arabic speakers. A Muslim of any background, or anyone familiar with the look of Arabic calligraphy would have been able to notice the letters weren't ligated properly.

I guess I'm not surprised that the party that is bombing Palestine doesn't have a single Muslim on staff, even in New York City. I'd be shocked if they did.
