  • Wow. You really don’t care to understand a point other than your own. You want to pivot anyone else’s opinion to meaninglessness, and so I don’t see a need to reply further to a one-note-mentality as yours. Enjoy your holidays and goodbye.

  • There is no such thing as a one party system. I think the word you’re looking for is “dictatorship”.

People seem to want to have more choice, but what they really need to do is choose better.

When I hear “our family always votes…”, that’s where democracy is failed.

  • I used to say this too, but living in a multiparty country for 20+ years now (NL) I don’t see it as an advantage when you need to govern so large a country. It sounds like an easy solution until you try to get agricultural and city people to agree, and then now try multiplying it by 50.

Unfortunately, a two-party system will likely work best as you’ll need a common consensus to move the country in a single direction.

  • Wow. 137F? That’s crazy… my wife is Indonesian so we’re moving to Bali, but north on the island where the beaches aren’t great but there’s the sea air to keep you cool. Building a small villa with a pool as well (3m x 8m) for swimming but I still love the beachy vibe of the restaurants and shops along the coast area. Island life - got to love it!

  • Same. Fam had a home on LBI in the Terrace oceanside and the damn sand was fire in July & August. God forbid you tried to walk down onto the asphalt streets for the 6 houses up to yours.. it was hot and sticky as it would melt and you’d get tar on your feet (walking the curb was sanctuary).

Building my retirement house now on an island and I’ll be happy with .6km to the beach. I can still see the water and smell the salt air, and that’s great.

  • Go dig up “Amerika”, the ABC miniseries from the 80s. Republicans lambasted it, but don’t you know they seem to have taken it as a playbook.

Unless we fight back early and often, we’ll have been taken without realizing it, and Democracy will die in the dark.

  • You must have gotten it indirectly - I still have my 1st gen, 8gb iPhone and it cost $799. I took it out of the country and rooted it soon enough to use it in The Netherlands, but there was a price drop weeks later and it was hundreds cheaper.

  • Tesla wasn’t alone in the push. Nissan’s Leaf was very popular but Tesla made it cool. Cool, as long as you cold afford it, but dieselgate and climate change are what made EVs a necessity today.

But to the original point - why do you think we need to repeat common news from the past few months? He’s been trying to union bust and the entire distribution chain in Norway is fighting back - maybe do some reading first before launching a defense?

  • So what? Diess was optimistic but had to also drag German labor along, and that market has rights US union could only dream of.

But he worked cooperatively with them, even through a worldwide pandemic. They’re still waiting for parts.

We’re far beyond that pandemic and Elon is doing whatever his highness wants, when he wants it. Surprise, surprise - it doesn’t get him anywhere outside of Republican-controlled territories, and he’s having a hissy fit on X.

I, meanwhile, munch popcorn and enjoy driving the VW ID.3 I bought in place of the Model 3 order I cancelled. Fuck Musk - he gets none of my money, and clearly nothing from Norway either.
