  • I went to one of these wanky places in London and had to use my phone light to illuminate the menu sufficiently so I could see it, thanks to those shit light bulbs they insist on hanging everywhere. There are dozens of them and yet they give off no light.. wtf is the point.

  • I had an identical experience with some other networks. It was some time ago, so difficult to recall fully, but I believe restarting my phone regularly was helpful. It may just have been that patience was required for the network side changes to be propagated, but the issue was resolved after one of those restarts.

  • London Underground themed. Where possible the station name somewhat reflects the purpose of the machine. Some names are shortened.

    • Bank: NAS server
    • Barbican: Jellyfin server
    • Paddington: Pi-hole
    • Piccadilly: Raspberry pi
    • Heathrow: Proxy manager

Wireless access points named as DLR stations.

Network hardware named as Underground lines.

Station names can be chosen based on their zone to indicate physical location. Zone 1 in the house etc.

  • The screenshot was taken from Firefox on desktop, running the latest version 1.5.0. The badge is a prompt to install.

The same issue occurs on iPhone PWA 1.5.0, iPadOS PWA 1.5.0 and native application 1.5.0.

I have updated the original post with this info.
