To overly simplify,

America is a threat to Canada and Greenland militarily and economically. No matter how much people roll their eyes about it, it’s real. Especially with the upcoming attempted leaving of NATO.

I’m not looking for allies. Lemmy is not some bastion of left wing Americans that the rest of us join in on. But I know who’s not an ally, demonstrably, and that’s the USA.

So why should I expect its citizens who abandoned their rights, don’t adequately defend against fascism even after professing it as a cultural raison d-etre, and specifically don’t stand up for immigrants - to fulfill the responsibilities of a Canadian citizen or immigrant?
