  • Allegedly is just a way to avoid getting sued. They know what they're doing. Sure, if they're on the list, that could be argued it's not alleged that they're tied together in some form, but at least this will keep anyone from attempted to sue them over it. And all they had to do was wiggle their fingers a few more times to add that extra word.

  • This is the big issue. I get it. I get why it's being done. At the same time holy shit am I tired of my money going to help the rich and kill people over seas, but we get told the poor don't deserve Healthcare and we can't afford to feed the kids in schools.

  • Why not both? Getting an illegal gun is expensive. Make it even more difficult, and not only does it likely go even more underground, but it costs even more. Eventually you're gonna have illegal ownership dwindle. So even if the majority were from illegal gun ownership, it would be so much harder to get. Like I personally wouldn't even know where to begin.to look for a gun.

  • I feel like it's barely front page news as it is. Like this is the only thing I'm seeing about this shooting. Last night on TikTok I found out about a shooting at a bar, what's the deadliest shooting in Maine to date. Happened on Oct 25th. I found out about it yesterday. 18 people killed, 13 injured. Still took me that long to see anything about it. Back when the Sandy Hook hooting happened, it was all over in minutes, and we didn't stop hearing about it for months. Now we might not hear about it at all.

  • I kind of get it. Like we were focusing on the shootings where someone goes to a school, a mall, concert, etc, and just starts killing people. It's still a shooting, and people still die, and it is unnecessary violence, but it's still different. Similar to how if I, a white guy, kill a black man, it's just murder... until I do it while screaming the n word. Now suddenly its different.

It also feels a little convenient in the aspect that people were pointing out how many of the mass shootings were done by white people... So then they add in gang shootings. Now more of them are done by other races.

  • While I agree it is an issue, I feel like a lot of it can be fixed with things like third spaces. Particularly ones that don't rely solely on capitalism, since most of us can't afford to buy much. I feel like a lot of my time on the phone is either at work, or when I'm not doing anytbing. But if I'm hanging out with friends, I don't feel anywhere near the same amount of pressure to be on my phone.

  • I would say depending on the purpose, you can get some cheaper stuff. Like I'm not gonna expect people at a college party to make rum and cokes with the nice stuff. And they're just shooting back tequila for fun.

But I also still wouldn't get bottom shelf. Its still worth avoiding that. I worked at an Albertsons liquor store back in about 2010. You could get a handle of Albertsons brand liquor for $10. Was always tempted to get some just to see how bad it is, but could never force myself to do it.

  • I'm just not an authoritarian. I don't like the government spying on us as it is. Why would I volunteer to give up even more privacy? Consider installing cameras in your home and give the government access to them if you want. Totes just to make sure the kids aren't doing anything wrong. I'll skip.

    Party of small government!

  • I watched it. I was actually kind of excited. I enjoy cheesy horror movies. Including ones that know what they are. Movies like Skinamarink are amazing works of art, and i love it, but Llamageddon was a movie to watch with friends, have a few beers and a frozen pizza.

But I feel like when people make these movies, it's a really fine line to walk, where it can easily just become bad. The Winnie the Pooh one unfortunate just missed the mark. It was just bad. Not the worst, but I don't see myself watching it again.

  • I remember when I was first leaving religion and becoming an atheist, I saw a trailer for his Religulous "documentary." I think it looked interesting. I was young and angry at religion. So I watched it. I still felt like it was bad. It was basically just him going around the world laughing at religious people. He made it seem like he was going to have actual conversations on the subject. He wasn't. I'm surprised more people have been following him this whole time. Like you said, even when I agreed with him I didn't like him.

  • I recently wanted an audiobook and found out it's only available on Audible(because of course), so I resubscribed from when I had it about 5-6 years ago. Plan was to get the book and cancel again. They have also removed audiobooks from my account. Granted, they're still available on audible. They weren't taken off the service. I can buy them again. But it just shows they aren't mine anymore.

From now on, I will pirate something before I subscribe again.

  • While we are at it, the. The t doesn't sound like a t. The h doesn't sound like an h. The e doesn't sound like an e.

None of the letters sound like how they should when looked at individually. I propose we change this. From now on, each letter gets pronounced as itself in the word the.
