Tucker Carlson is like Ted Cruz or Ron DeSantis; they can be propped up by right-wing propaganda but when it comes down to actually needing to deal with people they are so fundamentally and viscerally unlikable that they can't win anything outside of safe Republican spaces.

People are constantly fed negative economic propaganda but don't see it in their own communities so they assume it's happening everywhere else.
It's a presidential election year; time for every single Republican to suddenly start talking about a "debt crisis" that for some reason didn't exist while they were running up record deficits to cut taxes for the wealthy.
