  • I don't like it either, but if focusing on Firefox lets them market Firefox and somehow win back user-share, then maybe it'd be worth it…

  • Android has ways for app devs to specify where files get saved. App devs just usually don't give a shit, because they want to write a single lowest common codebase for android and iOS.

  • The worst is when an android app is clearly an iOS port. E.g Patreon app saves all files under a generic name rather than the one you get when saving the same file from a browser, because I guess on iOS it just goes into your camera reel without a filename anyway. Or how Bluesky app just straight up says "saved to your camera reel" and puts it in your DCIM folder, with no option to specify a different location.

  • It was clearer when the skill was called Knowledge (Religion), IMO. Same logic applies tho, it's about knowing stuff so int makes sense.

  • On my phone, F-Droid occasionally pops up saying it has downloaded an update for itself. But when I tap it to install it, I get told the APK is corrupt. Will this finally fix that, I wonder? :P

  • You can get zigbee 3.0 relays on aliexpress. I got the GIRIER store ones, but while I've done a test with a bulb and a switch on a board, I haven't gotten them properly installed yet. Seems promising tho.

  • Those little things can't compare to a proper heat pump, surely.

  • It kinda shocks me that the supposed wealthiest country has so many people who don't have this super common technology. Basically everyone I know has had a heat pump where I live for the past 2 decades.

  • I am very much under the impression that the freedom the original pilgrims sought was the freedom to persecute each other, yes. Like, they left England because they were being stopped from doing that. They even went to one of the Nordic countries first, and were welcomed, but they didn't like it there because they thought the locals were too liberal or something.

  • I'm with you, that or a g903 equivalent. But it has to have Lightning and Powerplay support.

  • Very frustrating to see such stupidity in Lemmy.

It's like how the game Dark Souls would censor any word containing "nig", and unintentionally made anyone naming themselves "Knight whatever" look racist. In a game full of knights.

  • It's so weird because it's not censoring "niggardly", only "sremoveding".

Edit: Oh right, "niggardly" doesn't contain the whole N-word inside itself.

  • Did you put the "removed" in this manually, out of interest?

  • Thanks, I had no idea what was going on.

  • For better and worse, most people don't care what's under the hood. They care about the surface features. I.e. Chrome already has their bookmarks, the buttons are all in the same place, etc.

You and I know there's little difference but end users don't want to change, even if it's to something that would benefit them in the long run (i.e. Firefox)

  • The BS in the last comment aside, what about the meme needs moderating? Was it a repost, or is the argument it makes unacceptable on reddit's piracy board?

  • I can see the value of it but it's also kitchy and annoying :P

  • I just noticed lemmy didn't like the #include statement because it uses angle brackets. I tried to update it but it doesn't look right, so I'm going to change it to quotes which should work the same, I believe. I'm not a C expert, I usually code in C#.

  • Why is every proposed US law I hear about some kind of acronym?

  • Twitter-likes are for following creators, IMO.
