The fact that more pay is not equal to the amount of skill required but the ability to endure pain is just cruel.

I‘m a certified smart dumbass. I have areas where I‘m way above average and still am baffled at how unable I am at communicating at times. It would be a lot less frustrating if I was less smart.

Thanks for pointing that out. I haven’t seen it that way before. I sometimes browse lemmy when I can’t sleep. I always get dragged into some kind of injustice porn that makes me wanna beat the crap out of some people.

In my short time in an actual tech company, I was baffled at the amount of cockiness. It was a startup though.

I was easily the most senior person outside of management, yet others got positions in management from the start. I did have management experience and significant success but I lack the ability to sell it.

When I complained that this isn’t what I signed up for, they pretty much told me to suck it up.

I‘m rather exceptional at what I do, yet my neural configuration makes me unable to play social games so I decided to not go on and play them. Currently helping my wife in her small company.

If someone wants me to hate them and not piss on them if they are on fire, all they have to do is say that.

I know its a trauma thing for me an they are just ignorant but boy do I hate that sentence.

To clarify it for you:

• I think this unity thing is horrendous
• It obviously is part of the enshittification pattern we see everywhere
• I feel like this goes far beyond tech
• I never wanted to „come across“ a certain way. I‘m autistic have a very different perception of things. My goal in a post is to inform or get informed.

Maybe this helps to clear things up. Feel free to correct things you think are inaccurate.

I don’t pirate at the moment but my philosophy is that if something is not available to buy, it is free to pirate in my book.

Otherwise, every company that makes a game and rakes in more than 100% profit from it is fair game imo. (That would be revenue devided by the engineer’s salaries, machines and office related stuff times 100. explicitly leaving out ceos overinflated salaries. They should not be tax deductible anyway.)

Piracy does not damage at all compared to the damage monopolized america is doing to them.

Enshittification is hitting windows hard these days. Windows 10 was okay in my book. I‘m probably not going to use windows 11. Currently preparing an ubuntu daily driver for operation.

But as doctorow said here, we are crawling back to old anti trust standards which we lost. It’s going to take a long time but it’s going.
