  • You'd be mistaken in thinking that everywhere will collapse at the same time. More than likely there are still "good" places to flee to. As the future collapse drags on they get fewer and fewer and less and less safe. But even just being "over there" is better than "here" in many cases.

  • Respectfully, Trump didn't just appear this year. There are endless CONCRETE examples of his garbage character and policy ideas. Plenty of people in precarious situations are not so stupid as to somehow believe that Trump is only a danger recently because of project 2025. You would literally have to have just regained consciousness from a 10 year coma to not have been exposed to his shittiness at this point. Anyone who supports him or is undecided about him is wholly ignorant of reality.

  • Hmm... How shall we win these votes from the lower class? Should we listen to their complaints and plights? Should we come up with ideas that resonate with the populace and excites them so they actually want to come out to vote for us rather than it being a feeling of obligation?

No. Let's not do any of that, let's just take bribes from the rich and do whatever they say. Then we can blame the left for being uninspired by our outrageous greed!

  • You realize there is a difference between 'popular' and 'implemented,' right?

Popular opinion has virtually no impact on policy, unless you're rich. This article describes the relationship.

“Not only do ordinary citizens not have uniquely substantial power over policy decisions, they have little or no independent influence on policy at all."

  • Why did you bring up China? Wasn't involved in the conversation, doesn't qualify as a communist nation, hasn't claimed to be for a while actually.

Sure China has done some impressive things but those two "weak-ass" arguments you brought up are neither weak nor small. China is an authoritarian state that abuses its people. You could unfortunately say that about many counties though.

  • Except this time we won't just be paying for the cable, we'll be paying to get the ads you want, too. You'll be paying for the DVR function or whatever they want.

As with everything else it will continue to degrade and enrage it's customers, and erode the entire country's very will to live. I am truly curious just how detrimental it is for everyone in this country to be exposed to the THOUSANDS of small fully intentional annoyances daily that are built into every product and service. It has to be a leading cause of how angry and divided we are and is absolutely causing many early deaths. Everyone is so stressed out by every single thing they interact with.

  • There need to be massive protests/riots about this shit. I'm talking about showing up on senators' lawns with 10,000 or more people with guns (to keep police at a distance) or some shit. These people need to fucking FEAR US, the fucking voters or they will continue to rape our society out of existence.
