The dissatisfaction is in regards to the imperative that you use all forms of tech in all aspects of your life. It is with the fact that all tech is designed around making money, not improving life. If your video games were designed around bringing joy and entertainment, then you would probably like them even more, and get more benefit from them. Instead there are loot boxes and gambling in nearly all large games.

This is the problem with capitalism. What a sick world view.

It's a bit strong to call it selling out. They are fucked already. Like their entire country will likely have to evacuate within the century. I'm not certain about this country but others are building a gov fund to help pay for that. Anything to help really. It's not like this is the thing that is going to really cement bitcoins. The ship has sailed.

At this point, WW3 can only help the planet. Kill us all quickly to prevent us from destroying the planet any further. Fuck it, guys. Why not?

I think you are misunderstanding what I meant. The "neoliberal technocrats" absolutely do not, understand any circumstances, steer the ship towards the center. They steer it towards power. That power as of late has been reactionary.

To be clear the neoliberal technocrats never lost power. They are Republicans and Democrats both.

I understand what you are saying and that many in the media may even believe this is what has been done over the last half century. But that is not true. At least not for the last 25 years. They have been steadily veering farther and farther right and this is the result. They changed what they saw as the window, the Overton window you might say, and didn't even realize it (some did).

And the result is that now, when someone pushes back against crashing the ship into the cliff of reaction, they are pushed back against just the same as if they were trying to steer us directly into revolution. It's all a farce.

I think you meant to say extreme conservatism.

They really ought to be treated as such. True dangers to society. Like a wild fire, or a plague, or a serial killer. Like a pack of rabid dogs. Uncontrollable, unpredictable, untrustworthy, and HUNGRY.

.....you are misunderstanding. I am saying that some of those comparisons are, were, and always have been accurate. Just because the Internet is stupid and people exaggerate doesn't make it less true that there have always been Nazis working to destroy the world. They never went away. They are not literally Nazis, as in part of the Nazi party of Germany, but their organizations and groups were created by them and for them. Do you think the heritage foundation came out of nowhere? Like they all met by chance at a golf tournament?

I agree not directly, and while these people may be severely stunted in empathy, they do have it for those in their immediate circle. If their parents lose their money and health, they may care.
