I never even received an email. I haven't touched Minecraft in years, probably never would have again, but my daughter is getting into it and I thought it would be fun to play with her. I found out about the migration when trying to troubleshoot why I couldn't log in.
I tried to contact support and they told me that they had "widely communicated the migration through email and social media" and that because I had missed the migration window, I would simply have to buy a new copy. I double and triple checked. No emails regarding the migration and I'm not on social media.
Found out a year or two ago that a kid I was kind of friends with was convicted of a murder about three years ago. He and two others killed a guy, chopped up his body, and dumped it in a lake.
Small consolation, the only reason they know about the murder is because the guy I knew had a guilty conscience and made a full confession to the police out of the blue one day. Yes, drugs were very much involved.
One of my favorite managers once told me while I was struggling with a severe case of imposter syndrome "if you're faking it well enough that others can't tell, you might not be faking it as much as you think."
There's a couple of short story collections on Kindle called Space Eldritch. It's been years since I read them, but I remember enjoying them. A little on the pulpier side, but fun.
You just reminded me of a rental place I used to frequent. Insomniac videos. It was dark and musky, and the staff all had an encyclopedic knowledge of the weird and unknown or cult classics. Those were also the only movies they carried and they were next to the cheapest pizza place in town. My roommates and I at the time would often checkout something the staff recommended and load up on junk food on the rare occasion we all had a night off together. Good times.
I used to do penetration testing and only got to dabble in physical penetration testing a couple of times. Hell of a lot of fun.
For anyone reading this chain and interested in hearing more, this is a pretty fun interview with someone known for doing physical presentation testing.
I had a physics teacher in college who explained it like this.
Imagine we see by throwing tennis balls. You know the shape of something (and he gestured at a giant whale skeleton in the lecture hall) by Knowing where the tennis ball bounces off of the shape. If we throw a lot of them, we can "observe" the shape of an object.
Now imagine the object we want to observe is another tennis ball. With the skeleton, the tennis ball, even meant of them, hitting it and bouncing off won't effect it. But if we want to use our tennis ball sight to observe a tennis ball, it's going to knock the tennis ball away, thus we've significantly effected it.
The only way to "observe" a photon is to use something that will have a significant effect on it.
This was some 15+ years ago, so I might be misremembering the details slightly, but that was more or less the gist of it.
Maniac Mansion was the first that came to mind for me. You select a party from a number of characters at the beginning, but unless you pick the exact right party, you'll never be able to finish the game.
Being able to raise and lower is great. The grill is one at one of the local parks. Most of the perks around here have at least one which you can reserve.
As for what I'm cooking on, it's actually both! I used about 2 bundles of red oak, then a bunch of a good natural oak charcoal that I really like to help fill it out. I had more of both in reserve, but it ended up being just the right amount for what I needed.
