  • 100% agreed with you there, hope I didn't come across as argumentative.

I think Dan Olson said he saw people "praying" to ChatGPT, and I can't think of a better analogy for it.

  • The only things that really impress me are the things I have zero ability in at all: drawing character sketches of my roleplaying characters, composing music...

Do you suppose that is the result of Gell-Mann Amneisa?

You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues... and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.

You know how to program, so you know the AI sucks at programming. You know it sucks at poetry, synthesis research, etc etc. You don't know how to draw, but do you suppose the AI is good at drawing?

  • They are looking for every possible way to take that away from you.

You have a 401k? They're crashing the stock market to make you dependent on your job for longer.

You have a mortgage? Maybe you already paid off your house? Crash the housing market to send your mortgage underwater or decimate your nest egg.

Do you plan on relying on medicare for healthcare when you're old and retired? I hope not. That's next.

Maybe you can afford private healthcare? Destroy the CDC and the FDA to make sure you get sick from preventable diseases, so that you need to pay more for that healthcare.

Whatever net worth you think you have, Trump, Musk, and MAGA will take it. You're just a pocketbook to them.

  • When he dies, I hope they at least do me the courtesy of marking the ditch they dump his body in so I know where to piss.

  • Careful, the Catholics are by no means a homogenous group either. There's the whole "Trad Cath" thing going on.

Small mention in Folding Ideas' Geocentrists video

  • And soon you may ban books and newspapers, and turn Catholics against Protestants, and Protestants against Protestants, and try to foist your own religion upon the mind of man. If you can do one, you can do the other, because fanaticism and ignorance is forever busy and needs feeding.

  • They can also just deny that their own faces are being eaten at all. They still totally have a pension and great benefits. They only lost two teeth from deflouridated water! The value of their investment portfolio went up from $200k all the way to $50k! The mortgage company is just making a mistake by foreclosing on my house, don't worry, Trump will give it back to me soon!

Denial is how they'll live the rest of their entire, miserable lives.

  • Which will get it wrong and leave expired/unsigned certs everywhere XD

  • That was a joke? Nice try Nostradamus, I know you can see the future.

  • I hate to break the news, but you can't win a war by retreating.

  • The "trans issue" is a right wing cudgel. If you drop it today, they will invent a new one tomorrow.

It might be the immigrants. Ok so you deport them all, without cause, every single one.

It might be the poor. Ok so you move them all into workhouses, slaves to enrich the wealthy.

It might be the educated, because if they can't understand anything, why should anyone else?

Retreat on one front, and you allow them to access the next.

  • Sorry mate, I don't buy the excuse.

They can agree with the Democrat party in terms of healthcare, taxation, foreign policy, and a whole lot of other things but...

If this were true, then any reasonably intelligent person can put together a list of Pros and Cons and see that the pros massively outweigh the cons here. To still vote for the Con - the literal con artist - despite all evidence to the contrary, means 1) they're lying about why they vote, or 2) they're morons who are terrible at assessing values and threats, or both.

  • Ray Dalio's a quack. He's a broken clock that is only right once a day.

  • I do. He thinks Biden and Harris are somehow Holocaust deniers. https://lemmy.ml/comment/17501122

Who said anything about not trying anything? Do you target companies that helped fund P2025 politicians and support those that gave money to holocaust deniers like Biden/Harris.

I wouldn't trust anything he says.

  • Sorry, the sarcasm didn't come through. My joke was that no software is perfect because software is constantly evolving as people's needs and desires change.
