  • Whatever you think you need port forwarding for can probably be better accomplished using something like tailscale or wireguard. The reason most vpns dont support forwarding and some used to but dropped it is because its just not worth the hassle andc creates an additional way for your IP to be leaked.

  • Something can be open source without releasing all the assets. Look at Doom and 'freedoom' or quake3 and open arena, Pfsense vs OPNsense: These are all open source projects.

    Open source isn't just what Richard stallmans says it is.

  • How would the steps of the guide change for a setup like mine? Should I still install everything on the OS drive like you did and point to the RAID array later? Or should all of the docker setup be done on the RAID array at the start?

    This is entirely personal preference as to what order you want to do it. If I'm following a guide I usually make any chances after im done so that I know ive followed the guide correctly first. I

  • Thank you for posting those links, while I'm not sure the person you replied to was asking in good faith, I myself was wanting to see an example after reading the discussion.

    Seems like even if it's not fully open source it's a step in the right direction in a world where terms like "open" and non profit have been co-opted by corporations to lose their original meaning.

  • If it was actually programed that way then yes you could go in and adjust that, but the model itself is not censored that way and has no problem describing all sorts of Chinese tabboo subjects.

  • I was a volunteer working at the first LinuxCon in 2009, I worked in the expo hall and at the end of the first day one of the booths had a raffle to win an android G1 developer phone and I ended up winning.

    The best part was, by winning the phone instead of having to buy it through t–mobile I was able to keep my service without having to pay for adding data and it was a couple years before I had to actually start paying for data.
