Semantics, but if saying it like that makes more sense to you then sure: I use middleman who accepts monopoly Money from me and pays my rent in "real" money for me.
Usenet is almost always split rar files, and not all Usenet providers are in the same DMCA covered jurisdictions so instead of sending a takedown to one site you need to send a takedown for 100s of files and to dozens of providers. The takedown requests can often be rejected on the grounds that fjdjwofhxzzoajfnq.r01 isn't actually the offending copyright material claimed by the notice.
Its possible to do manually but that costs more money and a lot more time, almost all of the requests these days are automated using bots with very little human oversight.
The spirit of the law seems to be that if its established the only reason to hold someone is a refusal to give information and its clear they will never comply, that alone is not justification for indefinitely detaining someone, but judges can interpret things how they want.
A court order doesnt magically give them the unlock code, the court can hold a person in contempt for refusing to give it in some instances but not indefinitely.
The only thing about Linux IS that its a kernel. Its not like BSD where all the tools get developed together and released in the same edition, Linux is a kernel, full stop. Anything built on top of the Linux kernel is a Linux distro.
Can you name something other than the kernel that would be considered an essential element of a Linux distro and not available on android or BSD?
Its always been GNU+Linux, even stallman acknowledged its a separate thing and distros without GNU or glibc do exist on desktop too.
This dude is a total grifter, he knows they would never find it and if they did it wouldn't be readable, so he uses other peoples fear of missing out to fund his "fight" with the council
Android is a Linux distro, just because its not gnu or running whatever subset of features a desktop Linux might have doesn't make it any less of a Linux distro.
The real question is what do you consider a part of a "Linux disto" that currently isn't available on android?
It wasn't so much confusing as it was over saturated, like not even half the candidates had statements in the voter pamphlet and many didnt respond to questionnaires or anything. City council was even worse, my district had the entire back of the page filled with candidates like 20+ names.
I'm someone that likes to take time and research candidates, I'm all for choice, I'd rather have it than not, but I can certainly see how it turned people off of the idea, perhaps intentionally.
I wish people who claim to know about economics understood what a hypothetical is.
So I'm talking about "if we had a magic wand" and here you go changing the rules and taking it away.
I'm sure there are places for economics professors such as yourself to discuss these things seriously, but this ain't it.
Now taking back my magic wand, I'm also casting a spell to take advantage of the fact that stocks can be used as collateral for loans, and since my first cast was to move the funds to a public trust I'm now directing said trust to take out loans and give everyone housing, they'll be paid back over time by a combination of gradually selling off the remaining stocks at a pace that doesnt shock the market...
But I swear if you take my wand away again when I get it back I'm just going to crash the stock market out of spite.
So instead of using our magic want to just take it all and convert it to cash we convert 1/4th to cash and keep the rest invested how it was with just the ownership changing to a public trust, that could fund welfare indefinitely based off just the interest and dividend payments that would otherwise just go to the former billionaire doubling their net worth every 5 years.
