Nah I just used (undeniably reasonable) arguments for hunting but replaced hogs/deers/etc. with humans.
The joke doesn't work if you extend it to industrial meat production.

Actually hunting humans is necessary as they don't have natural predators. If their population isn't regulated they cause devastating damage to the environment.
Regulated hunting is the ethical way to maintain humans as part of the environment.

Despair leads to Nihilism, Nihilism leads to absurdism.
Absurdism leads to a lot of fun.

Still, there was no need to shoot down the plane. Maybe as a visual revenge for the Russian plane Wagner shot down. Definitely some people died who didn't need to die so this is a barbaric act with no regard for human life.

I wonder who the other passengers were. Probably the kind of people who would possibly keep Wagner resistance up or have too much influence and are considered a liability in a takeover.
Or maybe Prigozhins family to strike fear into Wagner troops about their family if they don't cooperate.
Or, since there were reports that Wagner troops are scrambling Prigozhin didn't join the flight as a ruse.
Well the last one might be a reach and entering bullshit conspiracy theories but in general I'd like to know who was on that plane.

There haven't been any noteworthy aircraft losses on Russian side confirmed by Ukraine for a while except a couple helicopter.
So by your argumentation you should come to the conclusion that Ukraine will suffer very little plane losses at the current situation on the front.
