  • Let me crystal clear. I do not think that your position or attitude are moderate either. Haranguing people to vote against their conscience is a bad look. Big genocide, small genocide, both are genocide. If that overloads some people's 'election calculus' it's a reasonable and engaged reaction. If anything talking down to them is more likely to turn them off voting at all.

  • Some of these are clearly wedge-driving divisive (sic) trolls posing as moderates. Especially those hectoring voters that vote with their conscience now that attitudes toward a current genocide is making it impossible to vote for either of the frontrunners.

  • When I was poor and complained about inequality they said I was bitter; now that I'm rich and I complain about inequality they say I'm a hypocrite. I'm beginning to think they just don't want to talk about inequality.

  • Yeah that was part of the first red scare. McCarthyism was considered the second. All part of intrenching inequality by ensuring that the best paths to a healthier society are associated with authoritarianism.

  • On the other hand I think that it's healthy to have a few redundant communal spaces to facilitate them growing in different directions. They'll likely acquire more discernable character as time passes. And this in turn will hopefully catalyse content within them.

Think of it in terms of ballgames. Several different ballgames have evolved and refined themselves into highly skilled, entertaining spectacles. Crudely you could say that these games favor differing body types and skill sets and therefore afford more opportunities to a wider range of people to express themselves. If we had insisted on only one ball game, then only the most popular (at the outset) would have survived. I can't see the Shaqs, or Tiger Woods, or Serena Williams of this world making it in soccer.

    Eh..I'm waffling.

  • Maybe it makes no sense to you. Maybe you cannot understand simple inferences. That's not the end of the world.

But, the problem here is that a review of the aggregation of your comments on other topics would lead me to believe that you are a functioning adult. One that it is able to play with nuance and one that is fiercely partisan in their belief's.

So instead of playing your condescending game, of trying to exhaust commenters that have opinions you disagree with, why not be a little braver and just spell out your actual position. People are generally civil on this forum. Engage with them honestly.

  • Clearly Yanis means the USA not her specifically. He is critiquing the contradiction between the current action taken by the USA and the spin that its representatives broadcast to mollify people concerned about an ongoing genocide. Isn't that crystal clear? We all know, Yanis knows, you even know, that Harris is not the sole arbiter of America's culpability in this mess so the inference is clear. He is speaking towards the institution that she as Vice President is a figurehead of, the USA.
