  • You're right. We should absolutely, not once, not ever, have a person who doesn't perfectly, down to the finest detail, match the description of the character they are depicting act for that role.

I saw a local stage play of madame web where a woman played a male character. It literally wasn't even a distraction and they sold the character well.

  • Right, because a bunch of people back in 776 BC had everything figured out.

Tell us more about how poorly you've bothered to educate yourself on the subject of biological sex and you just base your opinions on 'the feels'

  • Yeah I'm not putting all that effort and potentially ruining my washing machine to save me a few cents per wash. That seems ridiculous.

You don't even have to buy the fancy, expensive, in a pod detergent or anything, considering they always contain the same stuff that comes in a box/bottle. Just buy whatever's cheap.

  • What the other guy said. This is definitely a common phrase with AAVE, thus, asking the question, "do people really talk like this", would imply that the asker is considering the poster to be inferior in some way. The racist piece being that it's pinpointing a dialect spoken, typically, by a specific race and calling it dumb.

I was sort of being sarcastic but lemmy users are a special sort and definitely can't read that.

  • The article doesn't give much, and a lawyer claiming something is considerably damaged when defending a client is always hyperbolic. Did you look up more info?

Either way, 30 mill could set you and your descendants (should you be able to make any) for life. Life's pretty damn short, so never having to work again at the cost of not being able to crank it anymore? I'd seriously consider it.

  • A quick search says that coffee is typically made at around 200°F (93°C), and water can cause 3rd degree burns within a couple of seconds of contact at 150°C (60°C), so it's not unthinkable that a freshly made coffee would be dangerous.

A proper cup with a secure lid would make the difference.
