What about using an optical out (I know the B550 Gaming Edge has it, which is similar to the Tomahawk) to feed digital audio to a conventional hi-fi amplifier?
Used stereo kit deprecates very badly; for the $100-200 you'll pay for a nice headphone DAC/Amp, you could get a trunk full of (originally $500-1000) AV receivers that have been obsoleted due to HDMI or whatever 32-channel format Dolby invented this week. Check any Goodwill.
It's gonna give you more flexibility-- if you decide you want more sources, or to move up to speakers, or even just FM, you can go there easily; a decent reciever bristles with inputs
It feels like there are a lot of other low sphericals now-- XDA/MDA, CSA, Akko's ASA, XVX for backlit-- at much lower prices and shorter lead time. $115 for a 100% set stings when I'm used to sub-$40 sets from China.
I guess what GMK could bring would be brand power and standardization. Buy a few cheap sets and they'll likely be subtly different profiles, but I'd expect MTNU sets would be interchangeable, which is a bigger deal the further you get from 104-ANSI boards
Let me spend 6 hours looking at slightly different screwdrivers and keycaps and dodgy anime merch and ICs that haven't been used since 1988. Way better than 84 pages of KWJIBO brand home goods.
I'm surprised compression isn't a thing, like Stacker/DoubleSpace back in the DOS PC days. Even with mostly efficient data, I could imagine eking out 5% more capacity at the cost of lowered performance on disc-intensive tasks
Some early Ms have extra wire stabilizers on some longer keys. I think I've seen it on the numpad plus and enter on like '86 and '87 models, but it disappeared on later models. I think this might have corresponded with using more plug inserts.
That alarms me. The Fediverse is inherently self-selecting to nerds. You'd expect to see a higher standard for memecraft. It's like going to an anime con, and the artist's alley isn't full of fanworks that violate every known principle of anatomy. Or to a Sportsball match where they don't slam-dunk the touchdown bases.
Of course, we'll never top that picture which I thought for years was a deep-fried image of Hank Hill with the caption "E".
Is there a good rundown of the differences? Is there a suggestion to stick with the one you had before, or does it not matter since this is a new formula?
Most importantly, I want a systemd-free vaccine. The 5G/Bill Gates/Diet Pepsi conspiracy chips in there better run a respectable init system!
Exception: some places explicitly put it on the kids' menu as something that even finicky eaters will find familiar.
