Sure, I get that, it’s just when it eventually becomes corrupt or falls apart, everyone that moved from Twitter to Threads to Bluesky will find another platform. Nobody is going to move to Mastodon until the people they want to follow move there too.

In my three attempts to make Mastodon work for my needs in the last few years, I can’t follow NBA or NFL news, catch up on AEW wrestling or hang out with IRL friends.

The content I want/need simply isn’t there. Until it is, i don’t really care how private it is or how perfectly decentralized it is.

You have to have the two vertical cameras for spacial video that nobody records in, if they threw the third under those it’d look like a Samsung.

None of the people I follow are active on Mastodon. The selling point to me for Bluesky is that it’s essentially a Twitter clone not owned by a billionaire. It’s friendly to the communities I’m part of specifically and doesn’t have ads. What more should anyone ask for from a social media platform?

For the first time ever, I’m considering sending my kids (who don’t exist yet) to private school. I can’t trust public institutions to have the resources they need to survive and teach my future children.

How can Breath of the Wild which was originally a Wii U release looks so much more refined and artistically appealing while running better than anything Gamefreak has made in the last 8 years?

Ads in chats?

YouTube TV used to be such a good value. $35/m for the channels you actually want. Now it’s bloated and way too expensive. I moved back to traditional cable in January and haven’t looked back. I save $20m with Spectrum versus overpaying for YT TV.

I downloaded it and signed into to Sync and i gotta be honest it’s a little half baked. I think I’ll stick with Firefox for now until it leaves beta.

It looks like Arc but built on Firefox’s engine? That’s sick. I’ll give it a look.

What’s the best alternative on Mac?
