Has everyone collectively forgotten how Trump literally bragged that his buddy Elawn can hack the voting machines? It was like he was nodding to ‘the hacker named 4chan’ and grinning that he was on the payroll.

I think I got the nuance behind 'bigoted man I disagree with is actually a woman because women amirite?'.

Nope.

It goes like this: ‘bigoted man is bigoted because this will aggravate his orange tits. If bigoted man was not bigoted it would not be possible to rip on him like this.’

Put another way: ‘I am a bigot, said John.’

If that doesn’t clarify it then I’m out of patience to explain further.

It isn’t tolerating misogyny, it’s pointing out misogyny and ridiculing misogynists.

They are not just jokes. People posting these things are doing so specifically to antagonise the right.

All I have done to “fight for trans rights” is to speak out when I can, challenge bigotry as I am challenging you right now, stand up and be counted at queer marches/events and raise a daughter who took the only trans kid in her high school to prom.

You don’t know my life and that isn’t the discussion. Stop deflecting and learn to focus on intent.

Because those terms will not aggravate trump. The intent is to aggravate trump not denigrate femininity. Focus ffs. This isn’t about insulting trans people or women, it’s about fighting back on someone who is trying to hurt them. We will struggle to maintain allies if we cannot focus on the speakers intent and not a willing misinterpretation of their words.

Not sure if this is an age thing but at a certain point I just stopped wanting “forever fixes”. Nothing is forever. You’re just patching in the hopes that the nex hole is easier to patch now that you have all the shit you need to do patches.

Many of those people need literally years of deprogramming and even then the prognosis is probably quite poor.

What would be more helpful is to give high school kids a mandatory course in digital marketing and communications. Let them literally see dollars rolling onto an account after something is posted online and monetised. No one seems so distinguish between ads and facts anymore. Seent it on Insta? Shit’s as real as the air you’re breathing, to many people these days. Given the opportunity to understand why someone would post BS online and to connect the dots that it’s literally for a few cents of attention I think that society would change for the better.

Hard agree. I’d love to have decided to most due to the convenience and quality of the service but I decided to pay because the frequency and number of ads wa ramping up. These fuckers know exactly the point that which I broke and they’re going to use that information to break others.
