  • My friend in Saudi is one of the consultants that helped the Prince to win this bid for Riyadh and he's told me all about this initiative.

We all know that Saudi Arabia, like much of the middle east, has got some atrocious human rights issues. However, the Prince is really try to herald a new age of diversity and tolerance and modernity in Saudi and I think that we should be optimistic about this gradual change of direction.

  • Perhaps because they think that they will die and be nothing and therefore they're right to accumulate as much as possible in this life, nevermind the cost to the environment and to humanity.

It seems to me that YOLO is a fearful mode of being, and as we know people do terrible things when they're afraid.

  • We're not defending the Hamas terrorists. They deserve the fight that's coming to them.

We're criticizing Israel's indiscriminate killing of civilians. It's about as close to genocide as they can get.

As far as I'm concerned, if Hamas is hiding in a hospital or school or any other place, then IDF will just have to find another way to engage them. Shelling hospitals is cowardly, even if done as retribution for the terrible attacks on October 7th.

  • I just spoke with a friend in Saudi Arabia yesterday and he said the country is becoming much more liberal, at least they're beginning to allow other religious practices and their inviting more foreign cultural demonstrations. He said that the Crown recognizes the direction that the world is moving in and feels like it's futile to fight against it.

  • There's never been a better time to go vegetarian. The diversity of foods that are easily available these days allow for such variety that a vegetarian is never lacking.

It seems to me that there's no need to risk these zoonotic diseases, just because of our old habits of animal consumption.

  • Literally every place where children are educated is a battleground for the political ideologies of the parents. I've seen the exact same stuff described in this article in public schools as well.

Homeschooling has increased by 51% nationwide, while public school attendance has decreased by 4%. Prepare to meet a lot more Karens and their snot-nosed monster kids.

  • Lol at all of the wannabe thirteen year old edgleords on lemmy who are so confident that they understand this extremely complicated and protracted conflict such that they can reduce it to a single generic cause but can't even be bothered to look up which of the two world wars is the correct one to reference for their edgy meme.
