  • I can totally see Trump just having a bunch of random bombs dropped in the general area, declaring victory and telling everyone to fuck off though.

Iran will not dispute the strike was effective, and neither will Israel.

  • It will be worse, because in the very vague details as this is being discussed, this will formally tie them to an employer, so they won't be able to seek employment that doesn't hire "illegals", and basically lets employers deport people.

A visa is a contract between the immigrant and the state, with the employer acting as a third party, not as an intermediary. This is indentured servitude, basically formalising the current system where these people are allowed in as long as they are only used to undercut local wages, but they can't seek their own happiness and freedom.

  • And the kicker is that Europeans went and died in Afghanistan when the US decided to invade it and called Art 5 using 9/11 as pretext. The whole reason those people died was that in this exact scenario the US would still be on our side. And it isn't.

  • If Trump would rein Israel in and stop the Gaza genocide and the war with Iran, and would put something tangible on the table to guarantee a two-state peaceful solution (like a DMZ with UN troops), I would think that despite his everything, I'd be okay to have him get a Peace Prize.

Stupid thing is, he is really in a position that no president in the past 5 decade at least found himself in, where he could actually do that with impunity, as he doesn't need Israeli funding to get reelected, and he doesn't give a fuck about getting anyone in his party reelected either.

Of course, this would need Trump to be both brave and smart, which he is not.

  • At the time, they were still incredibly expensive and unreliable.

I think that's a feature, more money for Lockmart and Raytheon, line go up.

as long as it reduces the number of Americans returning home in boxes

As long as it appears like they do. I don't think they give a fuck about their soldiers, otherwise they wouldn't have sent them to Asia to die.

  • This.

Hungary has this thing where the agitprop always gets some footage taken before the protest starts so the crowd looks smaller as it's only the early people there from police drones.

You can't fly your own drone to counter the narrative.

  • Then, when a Democratic president takes office the court will walk it back and say “well, actually, there’s this exception, and this exception, and that exception…”

Or they won't, because the Dem president will simply "not abuse such powers" due to their "adherence to decorum".

The SC made the president god-king while Biden was in office.
