I fully agree. As a 43 year old, who used to be an "early adopter" I've found that I don't fucking need it. I'm fine with retro games. I'm fine with talking on the phone instead of video conferences. I don't need "social media".
On the other hand, I really like that my car doesn't pollute. I really like that I can power my house from the sunlight that normally just hits my roof and is absorbed. I really like that I can work from home.
There are tradeoffs. For me, what works, is just not giving a fuck. But in like, a content/nice way, instead of a nihilistic/depressed way. If you know what I mean?
I remember the story about the woman who won a water drinking contest for some morning radio show and died because she drank too much water. I don’t remember the exact terminology.
I have a friend who doesn’t like Kamala. She’s simultaneously not leftist enough and also “too woke” for him. Says he won’t vote for her. He lives in Nevada where his vote actually matters.
He also has strong opinions about the homeless and how we should do nothing and just let them die in the streets.
Kind of a big deal for her to talk this way. She may in fact not be scared of Netanyahu and AIPAC. Will be interesting to see what she does in her second term, when she has nothing to lose.
He said on Oct. 11 that a future Trump administration would “fully support Israel defeating, dismantling, and permanently destroying the terrorist group Hamas,” while telling the Republican Jewish Coalition later that month that Hamas fighters “will burn forever in the eternal pit of hell." That month, his campaign also said that, if elected again, he would bar Gaza residents from entering the U.S. as part of an expanded travel ban.
Former President Donald Trump said that Israel needs to “finish what they started” and “get it over with fast,” as he continued arguing Israel was “losing the PR war”
“You’ve got to get it over with, and you have to get back to normalcy. And I’m not sure that I’m loving the way they’re doing it, because you’ve got to have victory. You have to have a victory, and it’s taking a long time,” Trump said in an interview with The Hugh Hewitt Show that aired Thursday.
Trump defended comments he made recently in an interview with Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, in which he said Israel needed to “finish up” its war with Hamas
The incorrect spelling in the title of Pet Sematary was inspired by a sign at a real cemetery near King’s old house. In real life, King lived in a house with a pet cemetery in the back. The cemetery was marked with a sign that read, “Pet Sematary,” which was simply misspelled by some local children. The misspelling is given a similar explanation in the book: some local kids found the cemetery, adopted it as their own and cared for it, and made that sign by sounding out “cemetery” phonetically, clearly not knowing how to spell the actual word.
How so?
