  • Oh! Yeah I’ve got some openwrt setup on my router, haven’t checked my isp modem for a SIM card slot though I doing recall seeing one. Do you know if there is a way to configure it so that it only handover to the sim if the isp goes down?

  • 🤦‍♂️ That could work! Data sims are cheap in my country, and yeah I might have an old phone I could use as a hotspot. I wonder if I could configure it so that it comes in only if the isp network drops. I’d also want some roles in place so that the data isn’t accidentally scarfed down by a hunger download…

  • Telegram is absolutely not vastly better than WhatsApp. Open Whisper Systems literally built the E2EE in WhatsApp. Its implementation of OTR predates signal.

Meanwhile, Telegram insists on rolling their own crypto and it’s closed source.

I think OP can and should try to get friends into Signal. But WhatsApp I’is almost certainly the answer to the OP. It offers well implemented proven off the record, E2EE communications, it’s widely adopted, cross platform. It’s miles better than SMS and Facebook or Instagram messenger or Snapchat. OP is looking for the best compromise, WhatsApp is it.

  • Yeah no. I’ve been installing Kodi since it was XBMC and you needed to break out 007 Nightfire to softmod the original Xbox. Working XBMC /Kodi has been easy from the start. It’s practically unchanged UX since those early days.

  • Foundry doesn’t have a great player character creation flow. There’s plutonium, which works, but if I have multiple games going on foundry (which I normally do, for my multiple tables) then I can only keep one running at a time, making players of the other games are out of luck or I need to constantly be taking down and spinning up the right game. Ideally they would be a dedicated web app just for character sheets and character building.

  • Two reasons: Foundry has been feeling more and more bloated and still doesn’t work well on tablets or mobile, while Owlbear does; and Foundry doesn’t like to play nicely with cloudflare tunnels, and owlbear does from what I understand.
