Redshirts suuuuuuuucked. Good lord I could barely stomach getting through it after absolutely adoring Kaiju Preservation Society. The audiobook being narrated by Wesley Crusher didn’t help certainly but that was some of the most pat, ham fisted deus ex machina bullshit I’ve ever read. And the premise “no actually we’re just in a *badly written show * does nothing to make those chapters easier to stomach’s.

Hard disagree. It certainly has strengths and outperforms Dalle3 in some ways but in other ways Dalle3 is still the best handler of text and prompt interpretation. And neither have the flexibility of stable diffusion/SDXL

Yeah I mean you’re not exactly shedding some deep insight here, it’s very obviously that. While there’s merit to banning WhatsApp, it’s just foolish to ban signal. It’s the best in class for a reason, and it’s open source. France should devote resources to auditing and supporting signal if they really want to throw money to developing secure software.

Cloudflare Tunnels also work really well and turnkey for CGNAT restricted networks though. I used to have and love a simple WireGuard setup but one day the ISP can just change their structure and then you need some kind of end run around those. Tailscale works but it’s also not really a pure selfhosted solution either. Eventually you need some kind of offsite relationship afaik whether it’s a VPS or cloudflare. And cloudflare Just Works.
