  • one of these days, maybe, you'll come to realize that there is no objective morality. there is only the winners that decide how everyone else will live. we all get a choice in who those people are.

i choose to live in a world where rational thought dedicated to furthering humanity and ending suffering reigns supreme. the benefits of that world far outweigh the losses that one generation would have to suffer to achieve it. it's just a simple trolley problem. if you can't see that, then you are blinded by emotions.

  • not gonna do that. i don't need to be convinced that cartels and gangs are dangerous and brutal. i wasn't born yesterday.

my question to you is where do you draw the line at who gets due process and who doesn't?

  • the right has gotten very good at public opinion chess. they keep putting us in checkmate situations where we have to defend the villains in order to oppose their authoritarian methods. most leftists and liberals fall for it - hook, line, and sinker.

i think it's time we stopped playing these games, flipped the table, and put a knife to their throats.

  • you have a point. we can't defend our institutions by making heroes out of what the public sees as villains. we can, however, say "yeah, most of these guys probably are violent criminals but that doesn't invalidate the rule of law and the right of due process". the former will not help change public opinion, but the latter might.

but i'm a bit of a paradox. i happen to agree with trump's methods. i still see him as a dangerous narcissist, but if i could take that same power and use it to deport evangelicals, capitalist sociopaths, and conservatives, i absolutely would.

it's a war. we just have to win it. by any means necessary.

  • preach. it is for reasons such as what you stated that i fully give my blessing to women transitioning to men. level the playing field by any means necessary. this is survival.

i try to embrace my male archetype because i think the worlds needs strong men, but i have come to understand the feminist perspective and i don't think there's any conflict with masculine men being empathetic. as a matter of fact, i think a truly confident man doesn't need to worry about being vulnerable and is in touch with their feelings. the macho american culture is not who we are. it is an aberration directly resulting from abrahamic religious values being hijacked by sociopaths to pave the way for authoritarianism and further subjugation of women.

and i think it's up to all of us to break these insecure macho idiots down into kneeling before a new age of humanity. make them heel to understand that they were weaklings all along.

  • the individual is not the issue. it's the process. i'm not going to go to bat for some rando who might very well be involved in nefarious shit, but i will damn sure defend the idea that every person is allowed a chance to defend themself. this is the issue. people need to stop treating this dude like a saint. it could very well backfire.

in fact, leftists and liberals in general need to stop automatically assuming the opposite of everything a conservative claims is true. that's a fucking trap and it's illogical.
