  • I get the vague impression that this is meant to subtly influence western society into believing that the masses aren’t truly people, that only the ones steering our collective wheels are actually human. Green arrow basically said as much for like… 5 seasons. Then it got weirder.

  • I don’t really get that movie. It’s a metaphor for addiction, obviously, but are people being transformed into vampires as a metaphor for humanity’s infinite propensity for greed and its self perpetuating cycle of violence? Is it a literal metaphor for drug addiction, where people are hollowed out? Is it meant to portray the desire for continued existence as, itself, an addiction? Never took philosophy, so I’m probably missing context.

  • “You know Ted back there-“

    “OOG OOG”

“-has been going strong since pre-history. He goes so far back, he can actually drink a chimp. But mostly, he spends his time hypnotizing himself with his basin and masturbating. Which was why I suggested shoes.”

  • It will definitely happen to lemmy, unless someone conceives an ingenious AI sieve beyond current human reckoning. But the bots haven’t yet come to our peaceful little commie Linux forum, and that’s something worth appreciating, in and of itself. Every day is a blessing.

  • It’s always useful to display the fair weather friend relationship that we have with companies. The rainbows are a terribly useful example. Corporations cannot be your friend, and any insinuation otherwise just pisses me off.

  • “And he was cast down upon tattered wings into the rolling expanse from which he carved ebon dominion. Those careful few who continue to tread upon his midnight kingdom have granted him a name, the only thing he could not take for himself. Fur Lucis.”
