  • Interesting. The article doesn’t actually say that fluoridation in water supplies is dangerous but that some researchers are questioning. Generally code for lack of scientific evidence. It also finds that early studies may have had a flawed basis (pretty much all early studies have been found wanting by later scientists) but doesn’t refute the results. The study mentioned in the article talks about high levels of fluoridation which I assume is in lab tests however these levels are not the case in water supplies.

The correct way forward is more actual science based studies.

  • Apparently endless growth is a good thing. How the planet is supposed to continue to provide and survive a continuous expansion of Homo sapiens is beyond me. The only way out is to decrease population growth and refactor the world economy away from endless growth.

  • Using things like Signal and WhatsApp may reduce your footprint further.

I’ve used wifi calling from hotel rooms overseas as well as locations where mobile coverage is poor and it works fine. I suspect (not know) that the voice network provider knows pretty much where your location is though.

  • Iran’s religious leadership learned the lessons from the Cold War that using proxies to achieve their strategic objectives was the way to go. They are probably the reason that there is continuing strife and a major driver to why Israel has continued to be increasingly extreme. Effectively they have been winning the game as Israel is now ruled hardline religious nuts.

  • On the other hand, using a heat pump for replacing a hot water heater is definitely a good thing. Using a heat pump on an old water radiator system may not work well. Friends had to replace a gas heater for their water radiator system and were told that there wasn’t a heat pump unit hot enough for the retrofit.

  • However as a common carrier they should be bound by rules like other providers of public infrastructure. To say that if people don’t like it they can leave trivialises the situation. People are being subjected to private propaganda and private censorship on a platform that masquerades as a bastion of free speech. Doesn’t matter if it’s Twitter or Facebook or Instagram , they are purveyors of other people’s ideas. If they manipulate or distort or censor then they should be sorted out.
