  • Almost all cars and products have call home features in them these days. Car companies are putting kill switches in to stop delinquent purchasers. The trick is to manage them rather than whinge about them. If you know they are there then manage the network and environment to limit the risk.

  • We are supposed to trust our governments however it is pretty obvious that a Trump could come along and seriously misuse the backdoors that were said to be necessary to protect us. It doesn’t matter if you trust the current mob, it’s a rogue future mob we have to guard against.

  • There are a couple of things about battery storage, a grid built on renewables needs ride through capacity and it needs to be able to meet surges in demand. In fact all grids do. Batteries do that and remove the need for hot standby gas generators but at the moment due to lack of capacity, not all fossil fuel generators. A lot of focus is on batteries as the backup for loss of wind or sun, the spread of renewables over a large geographical area and interconnected grids provides greater assurance.

  • It seems that the LNP attack on workers rights, especially work from home was a badly received. They don’t resonate with women and are seen as a boys club. Their campaign has been judged to be the worst ever. Their leader is extremely disliked and made the mistake of pretending to be a Trump lookalike. They are trailing against a government that people don’t think deserves to be re-elected.

  • It’s an interesting point, if we get all the 65+ to work till they drop they won’t be around much longer as they will drop like flies freeing up all the housing, pensions etc. Just think, we all would have that in our future and how motivating it would be.
