  • I worked somewhere that was killing off their QA department and in a company wide meeting explained it by saying “when you go to a store a pick up a part, you expect it to have gone through QA” Lots of head scratching that day. They still don’t QA their products. They just ship them and let the customers complain if something is wrong.

  • I was hoping it wasn’t that one guy that keeps getting poked in the butt by the CIA and stripped naked while interrogated…but it is. Biden is doing what everyone else will do in his position. Project his political career. In Old Testament god we trust….

  • Mileage seems fine to me. My gas car gets 260-280 maybe. Electric hits similar numbers.

Charge times are getting pretty low too. 20 minutes is becoming common to hear a new car doing 20-80%. That’s slower than gas but also I’ll only do that in a pinch. Most charging will be at home during the night.

The maintenance differences are a mixed bag though. I think a lot of EVs will be essentially disposed of once the batteries are showing age.

If the phone industry can reach us anything it is manufacturers will make it expensive to change or not make the batteries.

With all that said. Giving car companies money to help them mine rare metals in 3rd world countries, buy motors from China, assemble cars in Mexico and the US…idk how that makes financial sense.

And before anyone tells me the money is only for US plants…I’ll ask you to get real.

  • Not a joke.

Copy left is like the Robin Hood of the copyright world. Basically, it’s a type of licensing where, sure, you can use, modify, and distribute the copyrighted work, but there’s a catch. You have to give the same rights to anyone else for any derivative works. So, if you modify the work, you can’t just slap a new copyright on it and restrict its use. It’s a way to ensure that the work stays free for everyone to use. It’s pretty popular in the open source community. It’s like copyright turned on its head, hence the name “copyleft”.

  • This thread makes me think that normal people should be cops too. People who don’t want to be cops should be cops. Like a true public service. Do it because you aren’t the typical type of person to be one.

    Thoughts?
