  • It's not fun. It's filled with micro transactions and uses FOMO dark patterns to make you spend more. It costs $70. The devs are not fixing the problems with their changes. I literally feel stupid for buying it.

  • Second: Not that I’m necessarily against it, but this looks like a straight up clone of Oxygen Not Included. I’m all for different studios giving their take on a concept, but I’m hard pressed to find what this does that ONI doesn’t do?

I don't mind it if it uses ONI as a starting point. It's super early in the dev stage, so that's a fine starting point. If it ends up being a straight clone, sure, that's boring and it probably won't do well, but if it goes its own path, then yeah. Plenty of games start at the same point and then veer off.

  • Depends on the model. Sometimes printing separately is better! Sometimes printing together is better. It depends on the geometry. For example, if one color can act as support for the other. Printing materials on each other can be better bonding, too. It's also better in a high volume sense to have the machine do as much work as possible.

  • This misses one of the key points about smr's. They're supposed to be made in a factory. That ship is one unit and expensive as hell. If you make 100 or more of the same smr, you can amortize the tooling cost over many units. This also allows for configurable size stations. Right now, nuclear stations are one and done, custom jobs.
