  • My recommendation is check if you have a local ink/toner shop and see what their refill prices are for the toner cartridges. I chose my printers based on being cheap to continually use and the quality is good enough for me.

  • I just want a basic tablet where every single bit of software/firmware etc can be swapped with open source code and standard but de-googled android with no proprietary blobs and being able to re lock the device after.

I can't trust any of these companies, Chinese or otherwise to not spy on my ugly junk when I'm using my devices naked because it's too fucking hot out and I can't afford AC.

  • I guess if you already have an ipad and are an apple user yet don't have money to burn...

I'll stick with my cheapo usbc portable monitors that require no setup other than plugging in cables and the power to the monitor is also passed through to the switch.

  • This keeps coming up but it seems kinda dumb. I can't just go buy a new 80's Honda civic because I don't know how to fix mine, but I could probably repair old consoles if I had the parts. The weirder part is how the games industry can continually port or remaster old games and expect a profit but it doesn't work that way for most of anything else. I don't think it's anyone's fault if things don't make it to the future. Games aren't books and you can't copy them in the same ways. Console makers can't even write good emulators for their own hardware. I'm fine with bootleg backups as long as the IP holders can be forced to fuck off from stuff they were just going to dump in the abyss anyways. My kinda disjointed 2¢ anyways...

  • YouTube is bugging out on me so I can't actually watch the video, and I have only played the GameCube editions. I would say if there are any quality of life additions then it would be worthwhile otherwise no. Pikmin always felt really janky to me. Something with controls, menus and stuff, progression. It was a great game but coming back to it as an adult it just needs too much wd40 and duct tape.

  • I don't have top of the line earbuds but the Bluetooth latency kills me. It's just enough to be really irritating and rhythm games are infuriating. I've been trying to find 2.4ghz dongle type but none I could find seemed any good.

  • The dll overrides can also be set with the windows style control panel from wine if you open it from the games prefix, but generally the launch options is just the easiest way to explain to others

  • I wanted this so bad until my work commute became a 1.5 hour drive each way. Now I just want cars to fuck off and leave me alone.

I'm still curious about the wheel setup and if it feels natural though.
