Thanks! This is almost exactly what I am looking for, except I'd like to be able to use it via my Anbernic RG280V. I know it can emulate an Amiga, but I was hoping to find something that would work with game pad controls.
This is fantastic! Gnome is such a great project! Well done!
This will sound silly, but I didn't realize that governments support open source like this. But it's such a good idea! It's similar to governments funding a park or a road any other public resource. Open source projects fit very nicely there!
Unfortunately, I don't think Lemmy is large enough to support multiple minimalism communities which specialize in different areas.
But I agree with you: minimalism doesn't have to be for cheap/frugal/ethics/etc. I (like you) also aim to have fewer high quality items, than a many disposable ones. And the mental bandwidth I gain from maintaining fewer things is very refreshing!
I've only finished recently, but: 'Walden' by Henry David Thoreau. I've read a few books about simple living/minimalism but 'Walden' is something special. Many patient observations of simple natural phenomenon are wonderful meditations and potent lessons. It seemed just as relevant to present times as to when it was written. I feel like there's a lot to extract from that book, I'll definitely read it many more times!
It is in the public domain in the US (published 1854) so you can get the ebook or audiobook for free from Project Gutenberg!
I still try to boycott Amazon, for a myriad of reasons. I don't think you're stupid for doing it!
