  • my guess: physical publications (e.g. newspapers) were very important for propaganda before the Internet, and Trotsky likely wrote about their importance, so contemporary Trotskyists dogmatically apply this to modern times, ignoring the fact that physical newspapers are now more or less obsolete (particularly among younger generations)

  • obviously it would harm capitalism if done by a mass movement, all I'm saying is that there are more useful ways to organize large groups of determined anti-capitalists

  • Frugality is useful for helping individuals and possibly communities save money, but it's not going to harm capitalism. With that said, the only one I remember here is /c/povertymeals@lemmygrad.ml

  • the even bigger disaster (distinct from the disaster to which my previous comment refers) has been averted
