  • This is Spider Jerusalem slander and I am deeply sad at how accurate it is

  • Oh that's actually super cool to hear. But still with limited time I have to be choosy.

  • Ah-HA, ableism eh?

  • If I was alone, get satellite internet and set up a solar powered remote working squat in some remote desert outpost. Far from the impending water wars.

Since I have family I'll just uh probably still drink. My kid's a handful.

  • That sounds positively revolting. I like a little lime in tea, but my palate still works well enough that I don't need to jolt it with hot rat piss just to feel something. Maybe if I make it to that age I'll give it a go.

  • Those aren't real humans you fool, an AI generated them!

  • How can I enjoy my summer now that I'm already looking forward to autumn? 🤨

  • I have found that a modicum of salt can be most efficacious

  • Humanity, three hands. Got it

  • It's very twee, but it has ironic capabilities.

  • I like rhyming slang. Mostly for torturing my fellow Americans. I also enjoy clunge, jobbie, and being "sick to bastard death" about things.

The Australians have my heartstrings though, when it comes to inventive slang. They're not here to fuck spiders, tell you that much for free.

  • All y'all are fighting the wrong people in this thread. We all agree it's a bad situation and there's no prize for "best degree of historical nuance in an opinion". We all agree the enemy is present in the moment.

  • They're right that we should at minimum not allow them to define how we talk about this, and we should call it what it is.

But we should also have a plan to avoid getting put in a concentration camp when we do so. Stay safe, and be good everyone.

  • They haven't. I saw Short Circuit 2 this year again and it's really unfortunate how much the appalling racism sullied an otherwise charming film. It was especially dear to me as a kid because there was a Johnny 5 animatronic at my science museum, and it encouraged in me a lot of hope for the future. I miss having that optimism.

  • Holding out for Skyblivion. No hate to Bethesda for this remaster, but I'd rather spend my time with something more original (and passionate)

  • Sure. I do prefer Sam Keith's Epicurus though.
