  • Yup, that's exactly what Halon does. Displaces air and the fire is put out but so are you as well.

The industry is shifting to less toxic for suppression gases like 3M™ Novec™ 1230.

  • You would think that Microsoft would have implemented better functionally by now. Yeah they had WordPad but that sucked too.

Like, c'mon, allow me to alt-highlight blocks of text already.

  • I can think of only a few reasons why the military would have you take training in Texas:

    • Gunslingin' with revolvers, single and akimbo
    • Practicing the perfect "Yeehaw"
    • Wrasslin'
    • Combat maneuver training in boots with spurs
    • Lasso training
  • The first time I heard about Brave it sounded sketchy. They replaced ads on websites with their own ads. That doesn't seem ethical to me since they aren't in the normal advertising chain of relationships where the website owner has an agreement with that specific advertising firm to display ads. Brave gets the revenue instead of the website owner, while the website displays content that they didn't agree to. And the user has no say.

    Very sketch.

And that they say they are sooo focused on privacy when everything that they do seems to indicate otherwise.

  • Where did I say that all Republicans are Nazis? Look closely, I said no such thing. I am saying that Nazis hide in the Republican ranks. There are openly white supremacist factions within the Republican Party (i.e. "Christian Identitarians") that hide behind a veneer of civility. These groups have far greater influence in the Republican Party than ideological extremists on the left have with the Democratic Party.

  • Why then is extremist, explicitly Nazi rhetoric so pervasive within the Republican ranks? A good example of this is the United The Right rally in Charlottesville. The Nazis present were not condemned by the leader of the Republican party at that time when it would be the easiest thing for him to do. This tacit implicit support emboldens them for future action. Any sensible President would have denounced Nazis and their actions, especially as a woman was killed as a result of their actions.

  • Calling such people Nazis is counter productive and only inflames the current issues at hand.

If they talk like a Nazi, act like a Nazi, or sympathize with Nazis, I'm gonna call them a Nazi. There's no room to be tolerant here, Nazis have zero place in our society. And those that are Nazis are right wing and hide within the Republican party. That doesn't make them any less of a Nazi, and we should call them out on it.

  • I was working outside this week (Southern US) and it was an absolutely miserable week. After a half an hour I was drenched in sweat, and it was rolling off my hard hat, getting in my eyes, and I was forced to pace myself and work much slower than I would otherwise be able to do because the heat was that intense.

I was able to drink some of my coconut water reserve because it has the things plants crave.

It's definitely the worst summer heat I've felt since ever.
