I donct have much stuff, but i have a lot of electronics, and at that moment i was very into sdr, so, wires, antennas, adapters, antennas, wires, and also additional hdmis, vgas, ethernet cables, usb, chargers, etc, etc, etc
Hehehehe, how we came here, if somebody wants to message their niece that doesn't have a sim card then that somebody is doing something bad 😆
(Sarcasm) 100% somebody isn't using SMS or fb messanger that somebody is a terrorist, extremist, child abuser, and drug user
C'mon, somebody is asking for software advice, just mentioning that it would be cool to educate the kids how to use private services
And even if somebody might be doing something shady, you can't really accuse or suspect somebody, this is really dark of you to suspect everyone around you and starting a witch hunt 😂😂😂
Looks find to me, depending on your use case, everything would have a use case
Many people mention airport red flags and checks, for me I never had any issues with the airport stuff, except one time in China when I had a full case of wires, really 10kg of wires, and they just asked me me to open and show, np
On desktop it's the matter of extensions, so following your idea keepass or pass won't make a good password manager without a third party browser addon
Good password managers, but what if not every single person wants to use "good password managers"
I agree it's not perfect, but at the same time it's better than using some third party service, or using plaintext, or using the same password everywhere
If somebody wants to use some gocryptfs or veracrypt for storing passwords, why not, it's not the best, but still pretty nice
XChaCha20-Poly1305 is used by a lot of stuff, pretty solid thing
Also password managers should lock after some seconds. You wouldn't want your note taking app to lock as frequently as your password manager.
I would love my notes to lock in some time
The key to opsec is compartmentalizing.
It's more true for privacy and anonymity, but security doesn't really care about compartmentalizing your everyday notes from your everyday passwords.
And in general, some people might need some lighter approach for storing passwords, unless it's some google keep, or some other plaintext, I think it should be fine
Even raspberry pi 4 doesn't run on 3-4w, it's probably for the older models and zeros
Rpi4 is more like 5-6w, and 8-10w theoretically
RPI5 is 12-15w theoretically
Rpi5's power supply is actually 27w, my thinkcentre's power supply is 60w
Rpi5 has a 2.4ghz 4cores
My thinkcentre has 2.4-5ghz 8cores 16threads
Also, arm is fun, but it's a headache to selfhost a lot of stuff on it
And really, I moved from RPI hosting to x86-64, I didn't know some apps like jellyfin, or elk, or basically anything can open instantly. Even nextcloud is working pretty well
And you can put an ssd inside, or even two, or even do some soldering a put 3 ssds inside
I'm even starting on RAM which you can buy and replace
Or even a thinkcentre, I got mine for less than $300 with 36gb ram, 1tb nvme ssd, and es i9
It was even closer to $200, and I had a plan to make a cluster out of these, but one this thing is powerful enough to do like anything, so I dropped the idea
Edit: also, about the power consumption, it's very similar to rpi5 and at the same time can do so much stuff
Idk, sounds really dark, not trusing your family is really dystopian
