  • Because Fedora is a testing distro which gets rid of legacy stuff the first. I wouldn't recommend it if you care tbh.

  • I don't think Fedora users care about breakages ngl.

  • Yea this is a very unpopular opinion.

Not all distros ship SELinux and the ones that do, don't actually configure it securely.

    Convenience issues.

New users are expected to keep copying and pasting commands from their browsers to their terminal which compromises some Linux security defenses.

Everyone literally says not to do that, including popular content creators.

KDE, GNOME and Sway are the only functional Desktop Environments/Window Managers that support Wayland all, while the Other DEs are not even close to shipping with Wayland.

Wayland is massive and probably will never actually be finished. Also implementing it basically means rewriting the whole DE (not really but it's a ton of work).

Most if not all of the Linux Distros in 2025 ship with Grub bootloader, which suffers from a lot of problems, instead of using the bootloaders that does not support BIOS and will improve the reliability of booting and provide a more stable experience.

    That's called "planned obsolescence".

  • I highly disagree with the attitude of this comment (after all Linus allowed BCacheFS in and now complains about it) but necessary evil in itself is a valid thing for most people unfortunately.

  • That looks like a Wayland issue to me tbh.

  • As I said in another post, 73% is too low.

  • FOSS community: we need to solve the money problem.

Also FOSS community: downvotes a good and ethical way of making money.

Yea atp everyone who thinks the issue is not with the people themselves is just completely insane.

EDIT: my point remains even if you don't like the creator of Hyprland.

  • Maybe a big desktop environment enforcing Wayland will get people working more on the fixes for the stuff that doesn't work out yet.

Not really or at least not enough.

  • Tbh 73% is low for something as important as a thing you're going to basically enforce. Get to 90% and then we can talk.

  • Hmm I decided not to interact with the answers a lot as they are personal opinions but yours is very radical so I decided to step in. Please keep in mind that not all people have an ability to buy any kind of expensive setup. Ray tracing is great but it indeed has a severe performance impact and not all manufacturers have efficient hardware for it yet so an ethical and nondiscriminatory way of implementing forced ray tracing will not be possible any time soon. Just something to keep in mind when forming a strong opinion.

  • Idk anything about their immigration policy so probably not that.

  • Imo GNOME looks way better than KDE. It's all about personal preference.
