  • Those are positive traits that would belong to any decent person, tbh

  • I believe you that if you're paying 2x a traditional ticket price you get a better experience, but I would really just prefer high speed rail lines that can service many people at once, not a boutique experience catered to the wealthy.

  • I agree with you about the terrible name. It also doesn’t betray its purpose. Photoshop… hmm something to do with photos? Ok. It makes sense. GIMP? It’s… what, now?

But I disagree that making everyone wonder how to pronounce GIM is the solution 😆

  • This isn’t a personal habit but flying. If I could never ever in my life ever have to go through a stupid security theater checkpoint at an airport and then board a plane and sit like a sardine for hours on end…

Too bad I live in public transit shithole USA

  • “It’s a rogue prosecutor who’s out to demonise the one and only Jewish state,” he added.

Which is it, American man? Is the separation of church and state the ultimate ideal, or is it that theocratic states are sacrosanct?

  • Maybe power is more reliable in central Texas, my family still has no electricity from the derecho that hit Houston. And they lose power frequently from all the heavy storms or hurricanes that pummel the gulf coast.

  • Love your enthusiasm. Your comment feels like it was just written with the most positive attitude straight from the heart. I wish to carry that energy with me through the rest of my day :)

  • I am such a better cook than I would've been otherwise, due to necessity. But I also enjoy it, because usually what I will make is going to be far tastier (and healthier) than other options.

  • You may as well just complain about the kernel itself being the vendor lock in to Linux

  • And they lived happily ever after. The end.

  • I foremost hope that the United States can regain a shred of its diginity and stop treating every foreigner like a criminal, stop funding a genocide, stop killing its own population with guns, have a decent social services program, etc. This is obviously a fantasy, so I secondarily hope these researchers can go back to China and do good work, where they won't be treated as second-tier human beings.

  • Just the other day I got downvoted for posting that it's stupid that 8GB of RAM in laptops is not enough. Software like Synapse, trying to lift the load that it does in Python, is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about.

the college WiFi environment some of my friends are in where a timer is set after bedtime which would wait until all sockets are closed which doesn’t include XMPP so messaging with my friends after bedtime is still possible.

The college tries to just shut off the WiFi at night??

  • feels like you can’t even exist anymore without all your data getting leaked by someone who aggressively must consume as much of it as possible.

Hulu you can say, “well at least I can pirate and avoid giving my info up.” But what can you do against things like when Equifax was hacked?

There needs to be real privacy reform and real data privacy laws in the USA. bullshit ass second-tier country

  • Lying for sales. Which we normally would just call fraud. Worse yet, they were misrepresenting themselves as people who were genuinely needy and cashing in on that. Wish we'd see more of this kind of sentencing in the USA.

  • Nice. The improvements to Nautilus (Files) are welcome, but it's still the the reason why I'm leaving Gnome for KDE, anyhow. I can't stand Nautilus.

  • My first car had a curb weight of 2400 lbs. It's absurd how fucking huge these planet-destroying, environment destroying, life destroying monstrosities have become.
