Yeah people don't understand how bad the MH industry can be. Its why these things shouldn't be gatekept, it should just be available under informed consent.
A thing that is really frustrating about a lot of health care providers is they insist on using outdated "best practice" blood levels for trans fem HRT which puts our estradiol levels significantly lower than cis women.
Im lucky that I have a dr in cali who is good and insists on me having proper estradiol levels but in the past they were significantly lower with other doctors. And I can absolutely tell the difference I feel so much better with my current levels and physically the effects are noticable as well.
Thats what my brother does, but he is a cis het man who works in construction as an electrician. He is very left leaning so he does try to challenge things where he can.
But I can't do that. I am a trans woman and confrontation legitimately would put me in danger and it wouldn't work anyways. People claim I am biased because I am in a group who is being targeted, its bullshit beyond belief but thats how people are.
Lemmy is going downhill pretty fast.. just today there was a transphobic meme that got hundreds of upvotes before getting removed (at least i cant see it anymore from blahaj). Feels like crap like this is getting more and more common every day.
Same sentiment as all the posts constantly saying they hope places like texas secede or that we should just split the country in to two and give them all the red states.
And then the cis/het person gets offended that you pointed out that their dumb not well thought out idea is actually harmful and say you are being hyperbolic..
Tbh lately i am just so fuckin done with cis people.. Im white and in the past when a black person would say they never really trust white people ever i did feel a bit of hurt but i get it now.. its how i feel about cis/het people.. i dont trust them, any of them..
They are connected but in practice there is definitely a big separation between lemmy and mastodon.. you see mastodon posts on mastodon, lemmy posts on lemmy. yes its possible to view lemmy posts on mastodon but its fucking garbage integration, i have never seen a lemmy posts boosted on mastodon it just doesn't happen.. if I see a mastodon post here its in the form of a screen shot.. the communities are effectively separate
Thats a technical issue that likely can be solved. I doubt some feedback loop of training data will be the downfall of AI.. The way to stop it is to refuse to use it( lets be real the regulators arnt gana do shit)
The fact that you think these things are even remotely comparable is kinda part of the problem
