To me, woke is when identity politics issues are intentionally inserted into a piece of media not to improve the quality of the story, but to push the creators political opinions. Even when I agree with them it annoys me, because it takes me out of the story and makes me feel like I'm being preached too or I'm consuming propaganda.

No they don't, they're idiots. Severing a valuable longstanding alliance because you don't like their current leader, who will be in power for at most, another 4 years is an incredibly short-sighted decision.
It's not comparable at all. In the US your credit score only goes down if you borrow money and don't pay it back. If you get a loan and pay it back on time your credit score will be fine.
I'm not super familiar with the Chinese credit system, but I think it's effected by a lot more. What kind of products you buy, how much you work, posting certain content online, etc.
I think MSM has made it worse, they've pushed the two sides further apart. But political parties have been around longer than MSM, so I think people will naturally align with one side or another. Having only two major political parties makes this even easier.
Apple may have had good intentions, but the optics of it are bad. It feeds into the planned obsolescence narrative.
