There's already a system in place to hold politicians accountable.

I want judges who base their rulings on the law and not their political views. In theory, laws adjust to the popular view over time. Judges should not be part of that adjustment.

Trump is to blame. When someone who half of the country blindly follows starts spewing slanderous venom, his followers will do the same. He's been doing it for years on other random issues. They follow every time. And he knows it.

Yet, millions of women will still go vote for him in November. Go figure.

So, the judges will have to campaign on the issues? Doesn't seem like the best idea if you want neutral and unbiased judges.

Because his voters don't believe any of the points you make about him. Trump is able to dismiss any criticism of him as "fake news." You can make any legitimate point about him and they will never believe it.

It's really hard for me to comprehend why people are voting for this guy. He's so childish. Thinnest skin in the world. I don't get it.

It hopefully means that Harris is also making gains in those states.

Florida's status changes depending on how many retirees move to the state in any given year. When many move, it usually goes more conservative.

Imagine how many children could be fed with that money. Absolutely immoral.

I've never heard anyone claiming that Biden won his debate. I've heard some say it was survivable, which it was not. Having watched both debates, I think it's pretty safe to say that Biden lost his and Harris won hers. Both with rather big margins.

He says he won and his supporters believe it. That's all they need. Doesn't matter if he was dominated or not.

Yeah, the debate was never going to make any difference for the bases of either party. But it might make a difference for moderates and independents.

Companies don't make as much money when it's repairable. Washers and dryers used to last 20-25 years with a few repairs here and there. But companies weren't making any money, so they started making unrepairable junk instead.

It's kind of sad. If the Schengen agreement ends up collapsing, it would severely undermine the foundation of the entire European project and could potentially lead to the eventual demise of the EU as a whole. The EU knows this and they are desperate to keep borders open. But it's just not going to happen, at least not until the external borders are dealt with.

Yeah. Although there's plenty to learn from history, humans have a tendency to ignore it and go with the populist policy of the day instead. The US has been going down that same road with Trump.

Yes, it's been pretty easy for a long time. However, there's been a slow but steady move toward more border controls over the past few years. Individual countries pretty much ignore EU reprimands about keeping borders open with a big fat "screw you." They have found a loophole, which allows them to close the borders for 6 months at a time and continue that indefinitely. It's been mostly smaller countries like Austria and Denmark, but we're now seeing Germany join that behavior. All of this will eventually add to air travel prices and definitely to the time it takes to travel by car and train.
