I guess you just live in a very different world than me. I would never let my parents dictate my life like that. They either accept me for who I am or they don't get to be part of my life. I would also never try to dictate life for my own kids like that when they are adult human beings.

I'm not sure why you let your parents be the deciding factor in whether you have kids or not? It's not up to them.

They are VC backed. Enshittification incoming.

I think the point is that Americans assume that people speak English in countries where English is not the predominant language without first making even the slightest effort to adjust to the local language and customs. And it really comes across as assholery.

So, I think the alternative is Ron DeSantis. Not much better.

Yeah, it seems like everyone just want silent after the election. Have barely heard anything from the Democrats. This is going to take a while to get over, isn't it?

I find it disturbing that Republicans have problems with Hegseth's treatment of women but not Trump's. Wild.

The Republican Party is turning into the Christian version of the Taliban. They hide under the "freedom" label, but only their kind of freedom is acceptable. If you depart slightly from their narrow definition of "religious liberty," it's not allowed. Or as the bible clearly states: "Freedom for me, not for thee."

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Americans are going to learn until it really, really hurts. I hope we get all the pain that comes from this straight on. No relief until we start voting differently.

The Republican Party is turning into the Taliban of the United States. On the other hand, Americans knew that and knew what Trump is all about when they voted, and they walked right into this with eyes wide open, serving both Houses of Congress and the Presidency to that party. We deserve everything that's coming to us.

We've already had four years of Trump. We know exactly who he is what he does and Americans walked right into it with eyes wide open. No excuses.

That's the same as saying Americans need to do something about Trump. They elected him and need to deal with the mess. Easier said than done.

On the other hand, Putin doesn't seem to care much about the suffering of his own people, which is what's happening here. It's the people, many of which are innocent, who suffer. Putin and his people are safe and warm with plenty of Euros and Dollars to spend.

Other than the idiotic healthcare system and politics, tipping is probably my least favorite thing about the US. No-tipping works elsewhere, and it can work in the US.
